Roy Keane has revealed that he has one big negative that he holds against Harry Kane, claiming that his leadership qualities fall short of what he expects.
Of course, the Tottenham and England striker is known for his goalscoring ability, as well as his creation for the past year, but Keane wants to see him being more vocal.
Kane racked up a staggering 33 goals and 17 assists in all competitions last season, coming from just 49 games which gave him a better than one contribution per game record.
Heading into the Euros, with England playing their opener against Croatia on Sunday, Kane will be looking to get his hands on another international Golden Boot.
Keane claimed that everyone should be trying to sign Kane this summer and added that he is a fantastic player, but he wants to see him digging people out on the pitch.
Kane is very much the kind of captain to lead by example rather than roaring at his players, but this is clearly something that bothers the Man United legend.
On Sky’s Road to Wembley, Keane said: “The only thing I’d hold against Kane, there’s a big negative against Kane – and I think Kane is a fantastic player and everyone should try and sign him.
“But I don’t think he is a good leader. I never see him digging anyone out at Spurs. And I know people say that’s not in his personality and he might do it in the dressing room. But I don’t think he does, and I think it’s a problem.
“I want to see another side to Kane. I’d love to see him get hold of some of the Spurs players. It’s my only hang up with him as a leader and a captain.”
