Spurs’ England stars have done their chances of booking a seat on the plane to South Africa no harm over the last few days. First it was Jermain Defoe’s match winner against Slovenia on Saturday and last night whippet Aaron Lennon showed all the pace and guile which made him the heir apparent to David Beckham’s England right wing role all those years ago.
