The Athletic have revealed that Manchester United will cover Sergio Reguilon’s full salary over the course of his stay at Old Trafford.
It now seems only a matter of time before United and Spurs confirm Reguilon’s loan move, with multiple sources reporting that a deal has been agreed.
This includes Fabrizio Romano, who gave his ‘here we go’ seal of approval to the transfer on Thursday night.
The journalist claimed that a break clause is expected to be included in the loan deal and that the Spaniard was due for a medical at Old Trafford before sealing the transfer.
No loan fee between Man Utd and Tottenham
The Athletic have now also confirmed that a break clause for January has been included in Reguilon’s move to Manchester.
The publication revealed that the Red Devils will not be paying any loan fee to the North London club for the left-back.
However, it is alleged that as per the agreement, United will cover Reguilon’s full £48k-per week salary.
Spurs Web Opinion
While there are no upsides for Tottenham in letting a player join a direct rival on loan without any fee in return, we all know that the Lilywhites are desperate to get players out of the door to make space for new signings. So, it is not entirely surprising that Spurs gave the green light for this deal.
