Sevilla sealed progression to the final of the Europa League on Thursday, with on-loan Tottenham man Bryan Gil combining with former Spurs star Erik Lamela for an extra-time winner.

Juventus and Sevilla had played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg and the scoreline was repeated in the return leg at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, with the tie thus going into extra-time.

Five minutes into extra time, Bryan Gil, who started the encounter, beat Juan Cuadrado out wide and produced a floated cross from the left flank which substitute Lamela met with a perfectly placed head into the far corner.

The goal proved to be the difference between the sides and means that the on-loan Tottenham man, along with the Argentine, will have a shot at Europa League glory when they take on AS Roma in the final on June 1.

I cannot help but feel that we could have done with Gil in the second half of the season as none of our other attackers are as direct as the Spaniard.

The 22-year-old showed promising signs when he did get starts in January but Antonio Conte never seemed to fully trust him.
