Chelsea have already reached out to Tottenham Hotspur in an attempt to add Harry Kane to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, but they face an ‘impossible’ task in negotiating with Daniel Levy.

Kane has further cemented his status as a Tottenham legend over the last year. His phenomenal goalscoring form in the 2022/23 campaign – where he bagged 32 goals in all competitions (Transfermarkt) – saw the 29-year-old break a number of records.

The talismanic striker surpassed Jimmy Greaves‘ long-standing record to become Spurs‘ all time top goalscorer back in February of this year (GOAL).

There are question marks over Kane’s future, however, as he enters the final year of his current contract.

With talk surrounding Harry Kane‘s legacy, there appears to be a decision to make for the player. Many think he should leave Tottenham Hotspur and try to win trophies elsewhere, while some feel he would damage his reputation at the club if he were to move on.

Since Mauricio Pochettino took over at Chelsea, there has been speculation suggesting the Argentine would love to bring Kane to Stamford Bridge (GiveMeSport).

Chelsea have expressed interest in Harry Kane

Now, the latest from The Athletic suggests Chelsea have made steps to try and secure a deal for the England captain, but will find it very difficult to negotiate with chairman Daniel Levy.

Apparently, Chelsea have already “enquired about reuniting Kane with Mauricio Pochettino” in the hopes of recapturing the “strong relationship” the pair shared during their time at Tottenham.

Any chance of a transfer appear to be slim, however, for the simple fact that attempting to strike a deal with Levy is “seen as impossible.”

Levy would likely negotiate with a club outside of England, but you just know he will make it incredibly difficult for any Premier League side to sign Kane.

This stubbornness will be even more severe given the London rivalry, too.
