Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that Ivan Perisic could return to Inter Milan this summer, just 12 months on from leaving the Serie A club to join Tottenham.

Multiple Italian outlets have reported over the past couple days on the possibility of Antonio Conte’s departure from Spurs affecting Perisic’s future at the club.

Earlier this week, Calciomercato labelled the Croat a ‘Conte loyalist’ and suggested that he could be on his way out of N17 this summer if he receives ‘convincing offers’.

The report added that despite the 34-year-old’s contract ending in 2024, there has been no approach from Spurs regarding a contract extension for the player.

Gazzetta have now claimed that Perisic ‘is missing Inter’, just as the Nerazzurri are missing the experienced star, owing to their problems at left wing-back.

The publication explains that the former Borussia Dortmund man had developed a tight relationship with Conte, with the Italian’s presence at Spurs being the main reason why he opted not to renew his contract at the San Siro and move to North London last summer.

Now that the 53-year-old is no longer at Hotspur Way, it is suggested that Perisic could be tempted to return to Inter.

Spurs Web Opinion

If the next Spurs head coach prefers playing with four at the back, I do not see Perisic having a future at the club I do not think the Croat offers enough of a threat to be used in the front three regularly.

So, I would expect Tottenham to listen to offers for him in the summer.
