InterLive.it have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could be battling AC Milan and Inter Milan for Atletico Madrid midfielder, Rodrigo De Paul this summer.

De Paul has fallen out of favour at Atletico and it was reported by CalcioMercatoWeb.it two weeks ago that the midfielder is considered surplus to requirements by Diego Simeone and is ‘destined’ to leave the Metropolitano Stadium in the summer.

The report added that a switch to the Premier League could be on the cards for the Argentine, with Tottenham alleged to be eyeing a move for him.

InterLive have now also reported on Spurs’ interest in De Paul, explaining that Fabio Paratici already held conversations with the player’s agent regarding a potential switch to North London.

However, the outlet adds that a return to the Serie A cannot be ruled out for the former Udinese man.

Inter are thought to have had a loan offer for the midfielder turned down in January and they are expected to be joined in the race by rivals, Milan.

The report states that there is a belief that an offer of €30m (£26.2m) would be enough to convince Atletico to sell the 28-year-old.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that we need reinforcements in the middle of the park but perhaps the club will be prioritising a move for a more attack-minded midfielder such as Maddison.

Either way, a decision on the transfer targets are unlikely to be made before the club close in on a managerial appointment.
