L’Equipe have claimed that Rennes have now launched a second offer for Davinson Sanchez after their opening bid was turned down by Tottenham.
It appears as if Sanchez is attracting quite a bit of interest from Ligue 1 in the latter stages of the transfer window, with Gianluca Di Marzio revealing on Thursday that Monaco were pushing hard to sign the centre-back.
The journalist claimed that the Colombian’s agent had flown to London to try and finalise a transfer for the defender.
Rennes back in the race for Davinson Sanchez
If L’Equipe’s latest update is to be believed, Rennes have now returned with a second offer of around €12m (£10.2m) for Sanchez.
The outlet explains that while Tottenham demanded €20m (17m) for the former Ajax man just a few days ago, the club are now ‘more inclined’ to sell the player for a cheaper fee since they wish to offload him before tonight’s 11 pm deadline.
The publication adds that Sanchez has given the green light to join Rennes and is ready to travel to France for his medical as soon as the two clubs strike a deal.
Spurs Web Opinion
With Sanchez and Tanganga looking likely to seal moves away and with Dier potentially to follow, one can argue that Tottenham will need to bring in two centre-backs through the door before the 11 pm transfer deadline.
It is a little worrying that there seems to be no progress on any deal for a central defender at the moment but we know that things can progress quite quickly on deadline day.
