According to a report in Fotospor (as translated by Sport Witness), Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has lost patience with Tanguy Ndombele as the midfielder is still overweight, almost two months on from his summer switch.

Ndombele has started just one game since his loan switch to Galatasaray and has played a total of just 123 minutes across seven matches so far this season (Transfermarkt).

Buruk himself admitted a few weeks ago that the Frenchman am man is ‘not in the best shape’ and is still working his way up to full fitness (Yenicag Gazetesi).

Ndombele continues to be overweight out on loan

Fotospor have now shed light on Ndombele’s situation, stating that the midfielder’s weight problem has not been ‘resolved to the desired level’.

The report explains that the 26-year-old was overweight by 6kg and his body fat percentage was at 20 when he arrived in Istanbul, which is why the club’s dieticians wanted him to take action immediately.

However, it is revealed that Ndombele has only dropped 2kg and his body fat percentage has hardly changed so far, with his weight ‘continuing to be a problem’.

The publication adds that Buruk has ‘lost patience’ with the midfielder and is not happy with the player’s attitude and lack of professionalism.

This report comes just days after Turkish publication Star reported that Galatasaray could cut short Ndombele’s loan spell in January.

Spurs Web Opinion

No one would be surprised with this development as this is now a clear pattern with Ndombele. Tottenham have no choice but to sell him on the cheap or terminate his contract soon as it seems quite unlikely at the moment that Galatasaray would consider buying the player.

According to Turkish outlet Star, Tanguy Ndombele’s loan spell at Galatasaray might come to a premature end in January.

Ndombele signed for Galatasaray on loan in the summer, with the Turkish club having the option to make the deal permanent for €15m (£12.8m) but so far this season, the Frenchman has made just one start for the Istanbul side.

Manager Okan Buruk admitted a couple of weeks ago that the midfielder is ‘not in the best shape’ and is still working his way up to full fitness (Yenicag Gazetesi via  Sport Witness).

It was reported by Football.London recently that the 26-year-old came in for criticism from Galatasaray fans for failing to track back after giving the ball away in the club’s 3-1 loss at home to Bayern Munich last week.

Ndombele loan spell could soon come to an end

Star have now claimed that Galatasaray are ‘very disappointed’ with Ndombele, who has been ‘far below expectations’ since his arrival.

It is suggested that judging by the current state of affairs, the club are not likely to consider exercising the option to buy the midfielder.

In fact, the report alleges that Galatasaray are concerned about Ndombele’s fitness issues and could even consider terminating his loan spell in January.

Spurs Web Opinion

During his loan spells at Lyon and Napoli, Ndombele, at least, made promising stars before eventually tailing off. At Galatasaray, it seems like the midfielder has fallen well short of the required standard right from day one.

If the Turkish club do terminate the loan deal in January, I expect Spurs to do what is necessary to move on the 26-year-old permanently, even if it means terminating his contract.

Football.London have revealed that Tanguy Ndombele has been criticised by Galatasaray fans for his lack of effort in the Champions League encounter against Bayern Munich last week.

Accusations of poor fitness and a lack of desire is something that has followed Ndombele everywhere he has been and it will certainly not come as a surprise to Spurs fans that his attitude is also being questioned in Turkey.

Since the Frenchman signed for Galatasaray on loan in the summer (with the option to make it permanent for £13m), he has made only one start for the club.

Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk even admitted a few weeks ago that the 26-year-old is ‘not in the best shape’ and is still working his way up to full fitness (Yenicag Gazetesi via  Sport Witness).

Ndombele criticised for work ethic once again

Ndombele has had to be content with a few late cameos off the bench so far this season and it turns out that he has far from impressed in the minutes that have come his way.

Football.London reveal that in Galatasaray’s 3-1 defeat at home to Bayern Munich last week, the on-loan Spurs star came on for the final 10 minutes, but his effort left a lot to be desired.

He allegedly drew plenty of criticism from fans for one moment in particular, where he lost the ball and failed to track back when the German side flooded forward.

Spurs Web Opinion

At this point, it is fairly obvious that Ndombele is not really determined to have a good career at the highest level and make the most of his talent.

I do not think it is fair to judge him too harshly on that any longer as each person has their own motivations in life. It is time for Spurs to accept that they made a mistake by investing such a big fee on him and let the player leave permanently.

Galatasaray’s deputy chairman Erden Timur has revealed that the Turkish giants had to wait until they got through the Champions League qualifying rounds before swooping for Tottenham duo, Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele.

Tottenham were not able to offload Sanchez and Ndombele before the European transfer deadline on September 2 but with Turkish clubs being allowed to sign players for two more weeks, both players ended up completing switches to Galatasaray.

While Sanchez joined the Istanbul side in a deal worth €9.5m (£8.1m), the Frenchman signed for the club on a season-long loan with the option to make it permanent for €15m (£12.8m).

The Colombian has made a promising start to life at the Turkish club, having already established himself as a mainstay in the backline but the same cannot be said for Ndombele, who has not made a single start yet this season (Transfermarkt).

Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk even admitted two weeks ago that the on-loan Tottenham man is ‘not in the best shape’ and is still working his way up to full fitness (Yenicag Gazetesi via  Sport Witness).

Spurs exits were all thanks to Champions League cash

Timur has now opened up on the double deal with Spurs, admitting that the club would not have had the finances for the operation if they had failed to qualify for the Champions League.

He told Fanatik: “In order to increase (our budget), we had to qualify for the Champions League. We had to keep the players waiting until that money arrived.

“If we had not qualified for the Champions League, we would not have been able to complete the signings of Davinson Sanchez and Ndombele.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Sanchez was a real coup for Galatasaray as despite his struggles at Spurs over the last couple of years, the Colombian is certainly good enough to play in one of the top five leagues. The Ndombele deal is also a good one for the Turkish club since there is barely any risk involved.

Football agent George Gardi has revealed that he forged a plan early in the summer for Galatasaray to sign both Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham Hotspur.

Sanchez made the move to the Turkish giants on a permanent basis in early September in deal worth £12.8m, while Ndombele also put pen to paper on a season-long loan deal which includes the option to join permanently.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou vowed shortly after joining Tottenham as the club’s new head coach that all players would be given a new opportunity to try to impress him (Mirror), however, Ndombele’s poor timekeeping issues and an injury in pre-season saw him made surplus to requirements once again (Guardian).

Sanchez was in the final year of his contract in North London after failing to justify the at-the-time club-record £40m fee that Spurs paid Ajax in 2017 and instead decided to make a fresh careeer start in Turkey (Sky Sports).

Agent reveals plans of double Spurs transfer exit

Gardi revealed that he had proposed the double signing of the Tottenham pair to Galatasaray even before the summer transfer window had opened.

He told TuttoMercatoWeb: “These players who have arrived are the fruit of work that started a long time ago.

“Sanchez and Ndombele were my proposals even before the start of the market. You have to consider that all clubs in Europe and around the world look to English clubs when looking for quality, bringing three players from elite Premier teams to Turkey is like climbing a mountain. I am proud that Galatasaray accepted my proposals.

“Ndombele, we are talking about a champion of Italy, on loan at zero with a partially covered wage; and Sanchez arrived permanently. Under these conditions, the competition from other clubs was fierce, hence my pride.”

SpursWeb Opinion

Sanchez’s time at Tottenham had run its course and it still has to be a priority that the club look to bring in another central defender in the winter transfer window to add some cover, should Cristian Romero pick up an injury.

Ndombele continues to be a burden on the Tottenham wage bill and the club will be counting down the days until his deal expires in 2025.

Alasdair Gold has compiled his regular roundup of all the Spurs players currently out on loan, including Tanguy Ndombele’s first start for Galatasaray, a couple of wins for Joe Rodon at Leeds United, and a match-winning goal for Troy Parrott.

The crop of first-team players at Tottenham Hotspur are flying high right now, with an eight-game unbeaten run at the start of the campaign. Ange Postecoglou’s side are now top of the Premier League table going into the international break.

While players like Heung-min Son, James Maddison, and Cristian Romero are flourishing in North London, there are a number of players still attached to the club who are plying their trade elsewhere this season.

Whether it be young players looking for valuable first-team experience, or fringe players attempting to prove their worth and secure a permanent move away from Tottenham, all the players out on loan right now have something to work towards.

How are the Spurs loanees performing this week?

In his loan report for Football.London, Alasdair Gold shares what the various Spurs loanees have been up to over the last week.

There was a “big moment” for Tanguy Ndombele this week, with the Frenchman starting for the first time for Galatasaray. He played 62 minutes against Antalyaspor, and also got a six-minute substitute appearance against Manchester United in the Champions League in midweek.

It’s Davinson Sanchez who is stealing the headlines out in Turkey, however. The former Spurs man bagged his first goal for Galatasaray in the 2-0 win over Antalyaspor, and registered two assists in the 3-2 win over Manchester United.

Joe Rodon is back from suspension, and getting praise once again for his performances in the heart of the Leeds United defence. The Welshman featured in back-to-back wins for the Championship side, against QPR and Bristol City, with LeedsLive describing him as “very solid.”

His teammate, Djed Spence, is still out injured for Leeds. As are both Sergio Reguilon at Manchester United, and Japhet Tanganga at Augsburg. The latter, however, is expected to be back in action later this month.

Moving on to the younger talent out and about gaining experience, Troy Parrott is having a great time out in Holland with Excelsior Rotterdam. The 21-year-old scored in back-to-back games recently, including a late winner in the Rotterdam derby, but he is still waiting for his first start.

Dane Scarlett, meanwhile, is having to be very “patient” at Ipswich Town. With the club “absolutely flying” in the Championship, the Spurs man is finding it difficult to break into the team, but did get a ten-minute cameo appearance in the win over Hull City in midweek.

And finally, Alfie Devine has been “drawing plenty of praise” during his time with League One outfit Port Vale. In midweek, the youngster started the game against Bristol Rovers but was replaced at half-time after picking up a yellow card.

Devine then got another 57 minutes under his belt after coming on as a substitute in the first half against Portsmouth, replacing an injured teammate for the defeat at Fratton Park.

Spurs Web Opinion

Plenty of positives this week, with both Joe Rodon potentially pushing himself closer to a permanent switch to Leeds, and Ndombele finally getting his first start.

Parrott continues to impress in the Netherlands and is doing his reputation no harm. But, I do worry about Dane Scarlett at Ipswich. If he doesn’t get a chance soon, we may have to reconsider that agreement.

Ndombele joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal in the summer with the Istanbul side having the option to make the deal permanent for £13m.

The Frenchman will be hoping to get his career back on track in Turkey after a disappointing few years, with the 26-year-old failing to make much of an impression during his temporary spells at Lyon and Napoli recently.

The midfielder is yet to start a game for Galatasaray, having come on as a second-half substitute on four occasions so far across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Tanguy Ndombele is not fully fit out on loan

Journalist Nevzat Dindar even told Milliyet a few days ago that the on-loan Tottenham man is overweight and might take a month to get back into peak condition.

Ndombele came on as a substitute in the 84th minute on Tuesday to help Galatasaray see out a historic 3-2 win at Old Trafford against Manchester United in the Champions League.

After the game, Buruk told Yenicag Gazetesi (as translated by Sport Witness): “We are preparing Ndombele. Not exactly in the best shape. Many of our players joined us late.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Ndombele did go through almost an entire pre-season at Spurs before making the move to Galatasaray. He has no excuses to be lagging behind in terms of fitness but we now know that it is a theme with the 26-year-old, who does not seem particularly motivated to prove himself.

Turkish journalist Nevzat Dindar has been discussing Tanguy Ndombele’s situation at Galatasaray, and while he believes the player is overweight, he thinks the Tottenham man can come good this season.

There is a good chance Tanguy Ndombele may be the worst signing in Tottenham Hotspur history. Costing a whopping £55m (Guardian) back in 2019, it’s fair to say the Frenchman has underwhelmed in North London.

After failing to impress Antonio Conte, Ndombele was loaned back to Lyon, before spending the 2022/23 campaign with Napoli. The Serie A champions elected against retaining the Spurs midfielder this year.

Ndombele was given another chance in North London but was unable to win over the new Lilywhites boss, Ange Postecoglou this summer.

Despite speculation linking Ndombele with a move away from Tottenham all summer, it was not until after the British transfer window closed that Spurs were able to offload the 26-year-old. With the Turkish window open longer, Galatasaray swooped to sign the playmaker on loan.

Ndombele can be a success in Turkey

Things are not exactly going to plan for Ndombele in Turkey, but Nevzat Dindar reckons that will change eventually.

He told Milliyet: “Ndombélé is overweight. I watched the training. Kerem Demirbay and Sergio Oliveira play in Galatasaray’s midfield. Expectations are high. I don’t think Galatasaray are taking a risk for Ndombélé. I say there is one month for Ndombélé.

“Ndombélé is no ordinary player. I watch Fred with admiration. I said it in the last broadcast, Fred, it would be completely different if he was at Galatasaray, but I think Ndombélé will also make a name for himself.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Hopefully, Ndombele can get himself in shape and start performing well for Galatasaray soon. We cannot have him coming back to Tottenham, he simply has to seal a permanent move away this year.

Alasdair Gold has provided his regular round-up of all the Tottenham Hotspur players who are out on loan right now. Headlines include Tanguy Ndombele’s fitness issues, Joe Rodon picking up a red card, and Troy Parrott getting on the scoresheet.

With a number of new faces arriving at the club this summer, Ange Postecoglou needed to give his squad some balance by shipping players out.

There was, and still is, a great number of peripheral figures at Tottenham whose futures lie elsewhere, but who could not seal a permanent move away this summer. Therefore, a loan move serves the interest of all parties.

Likewise, a handful of young players have temporarily left the club for the season in an effort to gain valuable experience and stake their claim on a first-team spot at Spurs.

What’s going on with the Spurs loanees?

In his report for Football.London, Alasdair Gold shares what all the Spurs loanees have been getting up to, and what has been said about them.

First up is Tanguy Ndombele, who continues to struggle. The Frenchman is yet to start a game for Galatasaray and has been hit with some pretty heavy criticism by Sky Sports’ Batuhan Karadeniz, who claimed the midfielder needed a nutritionist (via Super Haber).

Conversely, Sergio Reguilón is seemingly enjoying life at Manchester United right now. The Spaniard played a part in the Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich in midweek, and also got 79 minutes under his belt against Burnley at the weekend. The 26-year-old was even named Manchester United’s “best player” for the game in Germany (Manchester Evening News).

Joe Rodon has been “earning plenty of plaudits” during his loan spell at Leeds United, but was sent off in a 0-0 draw against Hull in midweek.

Japhet Tanganga is currently out injured, but is expected to return to action for Augsburg next month.

Perhaps the highlight of the loan players this week, is Troy Parrott. The young Irishman got himself off the mark for Excelsior Rotterdam with a goal in the 88th minute.

Gold describes how Parrott “received the ball on the edge of the box and curled a beautiful shot into the top right corner, leaving the goalkeeper helplessly watching on.”

Finally, two of Tottenham’s most promising young players continue their development on loan with substitute appearances for Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine.

The former played 12 minutes at the weekend and 19 minutes in midweek, but it is thought “those minutes will continue to rack up” as his Ipswich manager is a “big admirer.”

Devine, meanwhile, played just over an hour for Port Vale in midweek, but was relegated to the bench for the weekend’s action. However, it is the “early steps” of his career, and he has received “plenty of praise” while on loan with the League One side so far.

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s great to hear Troy Parrott has got his first goal, and hopefully, it’s the first of many. Dane Scarlett is one I’m watching closely, as this will be a real test for him in the Championship.

As for Tanguy Ndombele, it just keeps getting worse and worse, and he is most definitely a lost cause now.

Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold has shared an update on various players the club loaned out this season, including Joe Rodon, Japhet Tanganga, and Alfie Devine.

In a summer of great upheaval for Spurs, seven new faces arrived through the door at the North London club. With so many new signings, there had to be some outgoings to balance the books and keep the squad from becoming bloated.

Some fans have been disappointed with the club’s inability to sell fringe players this summer, with Harry Winks and Davinson Sanchez the only two peripheral squad players who left the club permanently during the transfer window.

However, plenty of players did leave the club on loan this summer. Youngsters like Alfie Devine, Dane Scarlett, and Troy Parrott all secured moves to ensure they play more first-team football this year, while more experienced heads such as Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga moved on, too.

What have the Spurs loanees been up to recently?

In his regular piece for Football.London, Alasdair Gold had plenty to say about all those players and more.

Gold claims Joe Rodon is “earning plenty of plaudits” at Leeds United so far this season and was given special “praise for his role in keeping a clean sheet” at the weekend. His teammate, Djed Spence, is now out of action for eight weeks with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, over in Turkey, Tanguy Ndombele came off the bench for Galatasaray and played 15 minutes in a 4-2 win over Samsunspor.

Despite not doing anything of particular note in that appearance, it is said that Ndombele will now be “looking to play a part” in his new side’s opening Champions League game this week.

In the Premier League, Sergio Reguilon made his debut for Manchester United and played 85 minutes of the defeat to Brighton. The Spaniard will be hoping for a better result next time out.

As for Tanganga, he is yet to recover from a knee injury and has not featured for Augsburg so far this season. That injury will not be helped by a reported accident at the training ground where the defender fell off a bicycle.

A player who has made it onto the pitch, however, is Troy Parrot, who “got more game time under his belt,” this weekend, albeit a 19-minute substitute appearance in a 0-0 draw for Excelsior Rotterdam.

Alfie Devine is faring much better at League One side Port Vale. Devine was handed a start by his new side after his “heroics” in the previous game where he provided an assist and scored a penalty.

This time out, the youngster played 75 minutes in a 1-0 win for the high-fliers, and made a “crucial last-ditch tackle” early in the game.

And finally, Dane Scarlett “again had to watch on as an unused substitute” for Ipswich Town as they defeated fellow promoted side, Sheffield Wednesday at the Hillsborough stadium.

Gold claims Scarlett is “going to have to be patient” but reiterates that “big things” are expected when he the young striker does get his chance.

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s great to see both Joe Rodon and Alfie Devine performing well on loan. While the former may never return to Spurs, Devine has a bright future at the club and this spell of regular football will help his development hugely. Hopefully, Dane Scarlett can get an opportunity soon and show what he can do, too.

According to La Repubblica (as relayed by Calcio Napoli 24), Tanguy Ndombele turned down a move to Genoa in the dying stages of the transfer window since the Italian club could not offer him Champions League football.

Even though Spurs did not manage to offload Ndombele before the European transfer window closed, they managed to do so last week since Turkish clubs were allowed to sign players for a while longer.

The Frenchman ended up joining Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal with the Istanbul side having the option to make the deal permanent for £13m.

Tanguy Ndombele rejected a late move to Genoa

La Repubblica have now explained the circumstances of Genoa’s failed late bid for Ndombele, revealing that the Serie A side were ‘one step away’ from landing the 26-year-old.

It is explained that the club first enquired about Pape Sarr but after Spurs told them that the Senegalese starlet was not for sale, they started conversations over the former Lyon man.

The report alleges that Genoa even had a private plane ready to bring Ndombele to Italy as soon as possible so that the deal could be completed before the deadline.

However, the publication asserts that the Spurs star cancelled the deal ‘at the last minute’, telling the Rossoblu: “You are a newly promoted club, I want to make the Champions League.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Ndombele appears to have got his wish as Galatasaray have made it to the group stages of the Champions League. However, with Bayern and Man Utd in their group, the on-loan Tottenham man is only likely to play a few games in the competition.

I personally feel that joining Genoa and performing in the Serie A consistently would have done a lot more for the Frenchman’s career as it would brought him to the attention of some top clubs.

Aksam have claimed that Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has been seriously impressed with what he has seen from Tanguy Ndombele in training so far.

It did not come as a surprise when Ndombele joined Galatasaray on loan last week (with an option to buy for £13m) as the midfielder had not featured in any of Tottenham’s matchday squads so far this season.

Multiple reports had indicated over the past few weeks that Ange Postecoglou was far from impressed with the Frenchman’s attitude in training (The Sun) but it turns out that he has made the opposite impression during his first few training sessions at Galatasaray.

Ndombele catches the eye of Galatasaray coaches

Aksam have said that Buruk ‘couldn’t believe his eyes’ when watching the 26-year-old in training, with the Istanbul club’s head coach said to have been ‘amazed’ by the player.

The report adds that Ndombele is ‘highly appreciated’ by the coaching staff at the club, who view him as one of the ‘hottest’ signings of the summer transfer window.

It is alleged that Galatasaray are quite pleased that they beat local rivals Fenerbahce to the former Lyon man’s signature, with Ndombele now determined to ‘prove’ himself at the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

We have all seen this movie before. Ndombele impressed when he first arrived at Spurs as well as during the start of his loan spells at Lyon and Napoli, only to revert to type later in the season.

While the 26-year-old has the talent to be able to dominate the Turkish league, it remains to be seen if Buruk will be pleased with his application and his attitude over the coming months.

Journalist Dean Jones has claimed in his column for GiveMeSport that the tone was set for Tanguy Ndombele’s relationship with Ange Postecoglou right from the first day of pre-season training in the summer.

It did not come as a surprise when Ndombele joined Galatasaray on loan this week (with an option to buy for £13m) as the midfielder had not featured in any of Tottenham’s matchday squads so far this season.

There was some hope among Spurs fans that the Frenchman would be able to revive his career under Postecoglou, but it was revealed in the summer by multiple outlets that the Australian was not pleased with the midfielder’s attitude (The Sun).

The tone was set for Ndombele on the first day

Jones has now explained that Ndombele did not make a good first impression on Postecoglou or his coaching staff when he set foot inside the main building at Hotspur Way for the first time this summer.

The journalist reveals that the 26-year-old ‘strolled in’ to training like a ‘kid begrudgingly returning to school’.

Jones compares Ndombele’s body language unfavourably with Yves Bissouma who arrived with a big smile and ‘full of enthusiasm’, with the Mali international subsequently going on to become a fixture in Postecoglou’s starting eleven.

Spurs Web Opinion

This seems like a case of Jones perhaps reading too much into the body language of players based on the videos published by the club.

However, there is no doubt that Ndombele has an attitude problem and lacks the drive to maximise his talent as several different managers have not come to the same conclusion about the midfielder.

I am not comfortable with criticising the 26-year-old too much for the same without knowing what is going on in his personal life as Dele’s recent interview taught us that things are not always how they seem.

However, Tottenham do deserve criticism for not doing their homework on the player’s personality before spending a huge sum on him as similar issues had already plagued him at Amiens and Lyon.

Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur has admitted that the Turkish club ‘took advantage’ of the situation Tottenham were in after the closure of the European transfer window to conclude deals for both Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele.

While Sanchez has joined Galatasaray in a deal worth €9.5m (£8.1m), Ndombele has signed for the club on a season-long loan with the option to make it permanent for €15m (£12.8m).

A couple of days ago, we relayed a report from the Milliyet which claimed that Spurs wanted as much as €22m (£18.8m) for the Colombian when Galatasaray first expressed their interest in the player before bringing their asking price down to €16.5m (£14m).

The outlet explained that the Istanbul club got a big boost when the centre-back turned down a move to Bayer Leverkusen just before the transfer window closed, which meant that they were able to ‘win’ in the negotiation with Daniel Levy and sign the former Ajax man for a cut-price fee.

The report stated that it was during the negotiations over Sanchez that Galatasaray first enquired about Ndombele, with a deal for the Frenchman being concluded quite swiftly.

Galatasaray took advantage to get good Spurs deals

Timur has now admitted that the closing of the European transfer window last week was of big help to the club in getting the deals over the line.

The Galatasaray vice-president said (via Asist Analiz as translated by Sport Witness): “There were much more important opportunities for Ndombele four days ago, but when the transfer window closed, we took advantage. We thought we would not get Davinson either. We agreed on €9.5m + bonuses on the last day.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham certainly erred in Sanchez’s sale as the Colombian was evidently attracting quite a bit of interest from around Europe. Spurs might have been able to get a bigger fee for the 27-year-old had they sold him before last Friday’s deadline.

Even though the European transfer window closed last Friday, Spurs have managed to offload both Ndombele and Davinson Sanchez to Galatasaray, with Turkish clubs being able to sign players until September 15.

While the Istanbul-based side have signed Sanchez permanently, the Frenchman has been signed on an initial loan deal, with the option to make it permanent next summer.

Tottenham could finally sell Tanguy Ndombele

Galatasaray have now confirmed that they can make the deal permanent for a fee of £12.8m, which can be paid in equal instalments spread over five seasons, starting from 2025.

The club also announced that they would be paying a salary of €3.1m (£2.6m) to Ndombele over the course of his loan spell.

That is a fraction of the £10.4m per season that the 26-year-old earns at Tottenham (Sportac). It is unclear if the midfielder has chosen to take a big wage cut or if the North London club are paying the remainder of his salary.

Spurs Web Opinion

Ndombele might have agreed to take a wage cut but he certainly would not have accepted a 70 per cent reduction.

So, Tottenham are likely to continue to pay a significant chunk of the midfielder’s salary. The Lilywhites would be hoping that Galatasaray exercise the option to sign him permanently next summer and that the player agrees to move.

Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele are both the subject of ongoing talks between Tottenham Hotspur and Galatasaray, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It has been a busy summer for Tottenham and their new manager Ange Postecoglou. With nine signings made during the transfer window, it’s safe to say there is a new-look about the Spurs squad right now.

However, one complaint many Tottenham fans have now that the transfer window has shut, is that the club did not manage to sell enough of its surplus players.

As it stands aside from Harry Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich, Harry Winks, Harvey White are the only peripheral squad members to transfer away permanently. Meanwhile, the likes of Sergio Reguilon, Joe Rodon, and Djed Spence have all left the club for respective loan moves.

Reports had suggested experienced players such as Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, and Tanguy Ndombele would also be sold this summer (Michael Bridge for Football Daily), but no such deals came to pass before Friday’s deadline.

Sanchez and Ndombele could still leave Spurs this summer

However, the Turkish transfer deadline is yet to close and Fabrizio Romano has revealed that both Sanchez and Ndombele could end up at Galatasaray before their deadline for deals slams shut on September 15.

He tweeted: “Negotiations continue today between Galatasaray and Tottenham for both Tanguy Ndombele and Davinson Sánchez — discussions advancing.”

Romano also mentioned Giovani Lo Celso in his latest update, stating: “Talks do not involve Gio Lo Celso, he’s expected to stay at Spurs. Decisions made 10 days ago.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Offloading both Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele would be great, and the club should definitely look to make that happen by any means possible. However, my one concern, particularly with Sanchez is, that we didn’t sign another centre-back during the window and could leave ourselves short of cover at the back.

That said, if we really needed to, we could give opportunities to the likes of Ashley Phillips and Alfie Dorrington.

The Evening Standard have revealed that Tottenham remain hopeful they can offload Tanguy Ndombele soon, with clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey still being able to sign players.

While the European transfer window has closed, the Turkish window remains open until September 15 while Saudi Pro League clubs can sign players until Thursday.

There have already been some reports over the last couple of that Davinson Sanchez is now edging close to a move to Galatasaray, with two clubs alleged to be ironing out the final details of the transfer (Rudy Galetti).

Ndombele could also head to Turkey

The Evening Standard have now explained that Galatasaray and Fenerbahce both showed interest in Ndombele this summer but the Frenchman was reluctant to move to Turkey.

However, with Okan Buruk’s side now having qualified for the group stages of the Champions League, Spurs are thought to be hopeful that the 26-year-old could reconsider his stance if Galatasaray renew their interest in the midfielder.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not sure that the offer of Champions League football would be enough to tempt Ndombele to Turkey.

However, the midfielder now faces warming the bench for six months at Spurs, which is why he might have no choice but to accept the move. Tottenham’s dream scenario would be the permanent sale of the 26-year-old to a Saudi club.

Sky Sports have revealed on their live transfer centre that Tanguy Ndombele can join Galatasaray even after tonight’s 11 pm deadline as the Turkish transfer window remains open for two more weeks.

With just hours left until the European transfer window slams shut, Spurs have so far failed to offload Ndombele.

Gianluca Di Mazio revealed on Thursday evening that Inter Milan had revived their interest in the Frenchman and were considering making a late loan move for him.

The journalist explained that the 26-year-old was open to a switch to the San Siro as he is keen on playing Champions League football, but we have not heard anything regarding the Nerazzurri’s efforts since then.

Galatasaray an option for Tanguy Ndombele

Sky Sports have now stated in their latest update that a move to Inter ‘looks off’ for Ndombele since the Serie A club are pursuing other deals at the moment.

However, the outlet adds that a switch to Galatasaray still remains a viable option for the former Lyon man.

Further, it is explained that a move to the Istanbul club is not time-sensitive for Ndombele since the Turkish transfer window remains open until September 15.

Spurs Web Opinion

It remains to be seen if Ndombele would be open to a switch to Turkey. One would think that if a move fails to materialise before the 11 pm deadline, he will have to accept a switch to Galatasaray as he would not want to rot on the Spurs bench for six months.

On Wednesday morning, it was reported by Fabrizio Romano that Genoa had struck an agreement with Spurs to sign Ndombele on loan for the season.

However, it subsequently emerged a few hours later that the Frenchman was not convinced about moving to the Luigi Ferraris Stadium as he preferred joining a club who are in the Champions League (Daily Mail).

Inter Milan now making a move for Tanguy Ndombele

If Di Marzio’s latest update is to be believed, Ndombele might get his wish, with Inter now alleged to have asked Spurs for information about the player after he turned down Genoa.

The journalist adds that the San Siro would be a ‘welcome destination’ for the 26-year-old ahead of Friday evening’s transfer deadline.

Di Marzio explains that Inter are still yet to make a final decision on whether to pursue ‘a physical midfielder’ like the Tottenham man or more of a natural playmaker such as Sassuolo’s Maxime Lopez.

Spurs Web Opinion

It was always pretty clear that several Italian clubs would try to sign Ndombele late in the transfer window as the Frenchman showed some real glimpses of quality for Napoli last season.

However, it looks like Tottenham will not get their wish of a permanent sale, with the midfielder seemingly about to head out on loan again.

Ndombele is one of a whole host of first-team stars that Tottenham are trying to offload before the transfer window slams shut.

Ange Postecoglou himself hinted a couple of days ago that the 26-year-old is one of five or six extra players who will not find a place in the club’s Premier League squad (Football. London).

On Wednesday morning, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Genoa had struck an agreement with Spurs to sign Ndombele on loan, with the journalist adding that the Serie A club were working on convincing the player to make the move.

Ndombele wants Champions League to leave Spurs

If Di Marzio’s latest update is to be believed, Genoa have failed to convince the Tottenham man about the project at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.

The reporter has revealed that the former Lyon man prefers to join a club who are in the Champions League, which is why the Italian side is now turning their attention to other midfield options.

It remains to be seen if any Champions League club would come in for Ndombele this late in the window. Perhaps, the Frenchman’s agent has been contacted by a couple of other sides, which could be why he is stalling on a move to Genoa.
