CalcioMercato have named Tottenham as one of three Premier League clubs who are interested in snapping up Marcus Thuram.
Thuram has been one of the standout attackers in German football this season, having scored 14 goals across all competitions so far but his current contract at Borussia Monchengladbach runs out in June (Transfermarkt).
CalcioMercato now state the Frenchman has no intention of renewing his deal and has decided to leave Borussia Park on a free transfer in the summer.
The report primarily focuses on Inter Milan’s efforts to snap up Thuram, stating that the Serie A club have been working on a deal for ‘some time’.
As far as the Premier League is concerned, it is said that both Spurs and Manchester United have explored a deal for the forward but it is Newcastle United who are ‘in the lead’.
CalcioMercato add that Inter might not be able to match the kind of salaries that the aforementioned English clubs would be able to offer Thuram.
However, it is asserted that the Nerazzurri ‘will not give up’ and are determined to ‘close the deal’ for the Gladbach star.

Thuram’s father, Lilian, is, of course, a legend in Serie A, having spent the majority of his career at Parma and Juventus. So, Marcus would be familiar with the culture and the language in Italy, which could work in Inter’s favour.
However, one would expect a whole host of clubs to vie for the 25-year-old’s signature as it is not often that an attacker of his quality is available for free.
