CalcioMercato have revealed that Inter Milan are hopeful of ‘closing the deal’ to sign rumoured Tottenham target Marcus Thuram on a free transfer.
Thuram’s current contract with Borussia Monchengladbach runs out in the summer and the Frenchman is unsurprisingly thought to be one of the most sought-after players in Europe, with a whole host of clubs, including Spurs, credited with an interest in the 25-year-old (90 min).
It was Calciomercato who reported a couple of days ago that despite interest from the likes of Tottenham and Man Utd, who can offer a higher salary to Thuram, Inter are not prepared to give up on their pursuit of the forward.
The same publication have now offered an update on the France international’s future, stating that the Nerazzurri have moved into pole position for the player’s signature.
The report asserts that Inter ‘have never turned off’ their pursuit of Thuram over the last few weeks and are now ‘counting on closing the deal’ before the summer.
Spurs Web Opinion
It is clear based on Thuram’s evolution over the last 12 to 18 months that the Frenchman would want to play as a centre-forward rather than out wide.
So, I do not think he will be tempted by the prospect of joining Spurs unless Harry Kane departs in the summer.
