Inter Live have revealed that Inter Milan could be forced into selling rumoured Tottenham target, Alessandro Bastoni if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Bastoni is thought to be one of the names at the top of Spurs’ radar ahead of the summer, with Tuttosport revealing earlier this month that the 23-year-old’s future is up in the air as Inter’s contract negotiations with the player are not going as smoothly as anticipated.
The publication added that while the centre-back wants to remain at the San Siro, he could leave if the Nerazzurri do not offer him a contract that is in line with his value to the team, with the two parties said to be quite a distance away from reaching an agreement.
Inter Live have now also reported something quite similar, stating that the Serie A club’s contract offer has fallen short of €6m-€7m (£5.3-£6.1m) salary that the defender is demanding.
The report further adds that should Inter fail to qualify for the Champions League, they would need to offload some of their big-name players to offset their losses.
It is thus suggested that Simone Inzaghi’s men could sell Bastoni for around €55m (£48.5m) if they fail to finish in the top four.
Spurs Web Opinion
Even if Inter are open to selling Bastoni, I am not sure if the 23-year-old would be particularly keen on a move to Spurs as he will have no shortage of suitors in the summer.
I expect plenty of elite clubs, including Manchester City, to enter the race for the Italy international’s signature.
