According to Alasdair Gold from Football.London, Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma is expected to fly to the UK on Wednesday ahead of completing a transfer to Spurs.

Bissouma has made 124 appearances over a four-year spell at Brighton (TransferMarkt), impressing with his combative displays in the centre of midfield.

The Mali international looks set to join Spurs this summer for a fee believed to be in the region of £25 million (The Times).

Football.London now report that Bissouma will arrive at Hotspur Way in the coming hours and complete his medical on Thursday, staying overnight at the Spurs Lodge.

With the 25-year-old heading into the final year of his contract with Graham Potter’s side, Spurs were able to negotiate a cut-price fee for a talented midfielder (Football.London).

Although Bissouma sustained an ankle injury whilst on international duty, he has assured fans that the use of a protective boot is purely precautionary and the injury is not serious (Football.London).

It is great to see Spurs getting their business done early in the window and the coup of Bissouma is a serious statement to the rest of the league.

The signing ticks off the midfield role from Antonio Conte’s wishlist of six new recruits (Sky Sports) and Spurs fans will now be eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new centre-back.
