Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Edmond Tapsoba is keen on completing a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Tapsoba has been a pillar of the Leverkusen backline over the last couple of years and the 24-year-old turned heads with his displays in the Bundesliga and in Europe during 2022-23.

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that the Burkina Faso international has been on Spurs‘ radar for a long-time and that the North London club have now made ‘concrete contacts’ over a deal for the centre-back.
The journalist states that Lilywhites are reaching out to both Tapsoba’s entourage as well as to Leverkusen to understand the conditions of any potential transfer, but he makes it clear that the deal is not advanced at the moment.

This update from Romano comes on the back of a report by Bild on Monday, which claimed that Spurs see Tapsoba as a ‘very interesting’ option and could launch a bid of around €50m (£43m) for him.

One can see why Tottenham would be interested in Tapsoba as he is aggressive in duals, has the mobility to play in a high line and is good on the ball, thus being a very good fit for Postecoglou’s system.
The 24-year-old is also capable of playing on both the left and the right side of central defence.
