The Mirror have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are now set to sign Wolfsburg centre-back, Micky Van de Ven, on a £30m deal this summer (17:55 in blog).
It is said that Van de Ven himself has also already agreed to join the North London club, and Spurs now just have to complete the ‘final details’ with Wolfsburg.
Tottenham have a deal in place for Micky Van de Ven
This comes as Telegraaf journalist, Mike Verweij, also reported today that Spurs and Van de Ven had come to an agreement on a five-year contract that would run until 2028.
Tottenham had also been linked with Edmond Tapsoba, but Fabrizio Romano explained last month that Van de Ven was seen as a potentially cheaper alternative.
The same journalist than claimed this week that Spurs were likely to move for just one of Van de Ven or Tapsoba, and the latest reports would indicate they have chosen the former (AMP).
Spurs Web Opinion:
Tottenham really are getting their deals done quickly. Not only does this give Postecoglou the players he wants in time for pre-season, but it also takes the pressure off the selling side of the window.
Spurs can sit back, relax, and search for the best sales once they have their top targets in.
