Dutch outlet De Telegraaf have revealed that Micky van de Ven and his representatives have an ‘excellent feeling’ after their meeting with Ange Postecolgou to discuss a potential switch to Tottenham.
On Monday, we relayed journalist Mike Verweij’s update where he revealed that Spurs had agreed personal terms with Van de Ven on a five-year deal.
This was backed up a few hours later by The Mirror (17:55 in blog), which claimed that the Wolfsburg star had agreed to join the Lilywhites, who are now looking to complete the ‘final details’ to seal a £30m transfer.
Van de Ven’s meeting with Postecolgou went well
De Telegraaf have now revealed that Van de Ven, along with his father Marcel and his agent, Jose Fortes Rodriguez, flew to England to hold talks with Spurs, and the discussions were ‘extremely effective’.
The report states that the 22-year-old came away from his chat with Postecoglou with an ‘excellent feeling’ and that parties were swiftly able to agree on personal terms.
All that is now left to do is for Tottenham to agree on a fee with Wolfsburg so that the centre-back can have a medical at Hotspur Way.
The outlet adds that the Tottenham hierarchy have managed to blow away competition from Liverpool and Bayern Munich for Van de Ven, owing to the swiftness with which they have moved on this deal.

Just as Tottenham did not want to wait for the David Raya negotiations to drag on and swiftly turned to Guglielmo Vicario, it appears like the North London club have decided to conclude a deal for Van de Ven rather than waiting for the Edmond Tapsoba deal to progress.
