With Christian Eriksen telling the press that he wants to leave Tottenham in search of a new challenge and a step-up this summer (Ekstra Bladet), Spurs will surely now be hunting for a replacement.
However, they may not have to look very far, as they are apparently interested in someone already plying his trade in the Premier League.
James Maddison signed for Leicester for £20m in the summer of 2018, and went on to score seven goals, including three free-kicks, register seven assists, and create more chances than any Prem player with 100 in his debut season.
Tottenham Hotspur are now said to have made contact with Leicester over the potential transfer of Maddison this summer (Daily Star).
However, the Star add that Man United, Man City, and Liverpool have also enquired about his services.
The England playmaker is said to be worth around £60m after such a stellar first season in the Prem.
Spurs Web Opinion:
Yes. Get this deal done as soon as possible. Eriksen has been a wonderful player for six years at Spurs, and I have no ill feelings towards his desire for a new challenge. However, Tottenham simply must spend big to replace such a class act, and 22-year-old Maddison is the prime choice for me.
