The latest report on speculation surrounding Santiago Gimenez suggests Tottenham Hotspur continue to be one of the frontrunners to sign the Feyenoord striker, but it is thought his price tag is rising all the time.

Since the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in the summer, it is no secret that Spurs need to bolster their forward line. At present, Heung-min Son is leading the line there, and doing a grand job, too.

The South Korean has six goals so far this season (Transfermarkt) and has looked like he may be back to his best. But, that doesn’t stop the rumour mill from spinning.

With talent like Richarlison, Brennan Johnson, and Dejan Kulusevski it could be hard to imagine that Spurs would require another attacker, but the reports linking the club to Feyenoord’s prolific frontman will not go away.

Santiago Gimenez now has 12 goals in his first nine appearances this season (Transfermarkt) and is attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

How much is Gimenez worth right now?

The latest information on the Mexican striker comes from Italian outlet La Repubblica, with Inter Milan cited as a potential suitor for Gimenez.

However, it is thought Tottenham, Real Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund are all keen, too. In fact, the report claims Gimenez’s current form is “bewitching” these huge clubs, with a view to a move next summer.

But, to prise him away from the Dutch champions, it will cost €50m (£43m), and it is expected that price will only keep going up if Gimenez continues to score goals in the same manner he is right now.

The report adds that Feyenoord have “blocked any transfer for January,” so any interested party will have to wait. It is also believed “satisfying” Gimenez’s current club will not be easy.

Spurs Web Opinion

Gimenez is scoring goals for fun, and I have a feeling he would be able to translate that form into the Premier League, too. There will be a lot of interest him come the summer if he keeps this up, but Spurs have to make sure they are in that conversation.
