I think we have to recognise that Spurs will never pay the top money in the PL and will never give long term contracts to 30 year olds (nearly 30 in this case). I suspect the sale of one top player per season is part of the financial plan and the only issue for fans is predicting who that will be each year.

Unfortunately football isn’t about common sense ,its about money and nothing will change whatever we hope for. Do you really think the management of Spurs are not aware that losing a player of Toby’s quality will weaken the defense ,I have no doubt they have planned for this and time will tell if it works .
Its a business and they say 50/60 million in there pockets now is better than 25 mill next year ..
Who says that Toby will be as good at another team with out his old partner Jan of many years, understandings like that don’t happen overnight.. why do you think we bought Sanchez last year ?
No need to panic , if one goes another one comes,no one is indispensible

Keep him for this season, next season, the season after that and the season after that. Yet another farce of letting a perfectly good player go to a rival while they refuse to sell there’s to us and we have to scramble around for a replacement that will never be anywhere near as good! Can’t believe it!!!
