Chris Sutton believes that Harry Kane will wish that he had stayed at Tottenham Hotspur now that they have started so well under Ange Postecoglou.
Many pundits expected Spurs to struggle in front of goal this season following Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich in the summer.
However, Tottenham have not had any issues finding the back of the net so far this season, having scored 22 goals in their first 10 Premier League matches, with Son Heung-min stepping up to fill the void left by the England captain.
The Lilywhites have played some exciting football and currently sit at the top of the table, having won eight and drawn two of their 10 fixtures. Spurs’ brilliant star has led some to question whether Kane’s departure was actually a blessing in disguise for the side (90 min).
The 30-year-old has hit the ground running in Bavaria, having scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 13 matches across all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Will Harry Kane regret leaving Spurs this year?
Despite his exploits at the Allianz Arena, Sutton believes that Kane will have some regret about leaving his boyhood club.
The pundit told BBC Radio 5 Live: “I bet Harry is a bit gutted he’s not at Spurs with Ange. Spurs now flying, playing attacking football. I bet there is a tiny bit of him who thinks I wish I’d have stayed in the Premier League.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I do not think Kane is the sort of person to look back on his decisions and wonder ‘what if’. The striker is incredibly single-minded and mentally strong and the only thing he would be focused on at the moment is doing well for Bayern.
