CaughtOffside have suggested that Bournemouth centre-back Llyod Kelly could be Tottenham’s first signing of the Johan Lange era.

It was reported by The Athletic on transfer deadline day in the summer that Spurs had made an offer of £20m for Kelly, which was turned down by Bournemouth.

The outlet explained that the Cherries were reluctant to let the defender leave so late in the window since they did not have time to bring in a suitable replacement.

Since then, multiple sources, including Matt Barlow (Daily Mail), have claimed that Tottenham could reignite their interest in the 25-year-old when the transfer window reopens in January.

The centre-back’s current deal at the Vitality Stadium runs out next summer and it was reported by Football Insider last month that the player has refused to sign an extension.

Lange could target Kelly

CaughtOffside have now suggested that bolstering Ange Postecoglou’s options at central defence would be one of the priorities for the club’s new technical director.

The report suggests that Lange could try and sign Kelly on a cut-price fee in January due to the defender’s current contract status.

Spurs Web Opinion

A deal for Kelly should be straight-forward for Tottenham to pull off in January since Bournemouth would be keen to get a fee for the centre-back.

However, Spurs might have only turned to the 25-year-old as a backup option in the summer, owing to their top centre-back targets being out of reach. So, the North London club might not prioritise a move for the Cherries star.

Alasdair Gold is in no doubt that Tottenham Hotspur will explore a move for Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly in the January transfer window

It was reported by The Athletic on transfer deadline day this summer that Spurs had made an offer of £20m for Kelly, which was turned down by Bournemouth.

The outlet explained that the Cherries were reluctant to let the defender leave so late in the window since they did not have time to bring in a suitable replacement.

Since then, multiple sources, including Matt Barlow (Daily Mail), have claimed that Tottenham could reignite their interest in the 24-year-old when the transfer window reopens in January.

Football Insider asserted earlier this month that the South Coast club could be forced to sell the centre-back on a cut-price deal as the player’s contract at the club runs out next summer and he has not shown an inclination to sign a new deal.

Spurs will be on the centre-back hunt again soon

Gold has now suggested that Ange Postecoglou’s men will test the waters for Kelly again and added that they could also reignite their pursuit of Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.

The journalist said in a Q&A on Football.London: “Kelly will certainly be one of the defenders they look at. Postecoglou made it clear when I asked after the window shut that he was short at centre-back now.

“Kelly’s contract situation, with just nine months or so left on his deal, marks him out as a good homegrown option for a mid-season swoop and he fits Postecoglou’s system. Tosin Adarabioyo will also be in the same contract situation if nothing new is signed.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Signing a centre-back will undoubtedly be Ange’s number one priority and we know that both Kelly and Adarabioyo rank quite highly on the club’s wishlist. Spurs could potentially look to bring two centre-backs through the door if they manage to offload Dier.

Lloyd Kelly, who was reportedly the subject of late transfer interest from Tottenham Hotspur, has admitted that things have been ‘up and down’ for him the first few months of the campaign after what transpired in the transfer window.

It was reported by The Athletic on the morning of deadline day this summer that Spurs had made an offer of £20m for Kelly, which was turned down by Bournemouth.

The outlet explained that the Cherries were reluctant to let the defender leave so late in the transfer window since they did not have time to bring in a suitable replacement.

Since then, multiple sources, including Matt Barlow (Daily Mail) and Alasdair Gold (YouTube channel) have claimed that Tottenham could reignite their interest in the 24-year-old when the transfer window reopens in January.

Meanwhile, Football Insider claimed a couple of weeks ago that the South Coast club could be forced to sell the centre-back on a cut-price deal as the player’s contract at the club runs out next summer and he has not shown an inclination to sign a new deal.

Lloyd Kelly opens up on his start to the season

The centre-back has now admitted that he is ready to put the events of the summer behind him and focus on playing at his best.

Kelly told BBC Radio Solent: “I think looking back at the start of the season, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a bit of an up and down ride. But I’m here and I want to play the best football that I can.

“I think that’s my goal for this season, to be consistent in my performances and play to where I know I can play. So for me, that’s my goal.”

The defender was even left out of Bournemouth’s matchday squad against Brentford as the speculation over his future was intensifying towards the closing stages of the transfer window.

When asked if he made the decision not to travel to Brentford, or if that was taken out of his hands, Kelly said: “I have nothing to say on that, really. I think that’s the past now. I’m looking into the future and it’s me focusing on the games ahead.”

When quizzed on his contract situation, the centre-back responded: “I’m just concentrating on playing football to the best that I can, and I think that’s all I can say on that. That’s where my head’s at. I want to be playing consistently and playing to the level where I can be.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Reading between the lines, it very much sounds like Kelly was keen to leave but Bournemouth blocked him from doing so on transfer deadline day. Spurs will undoubtedly try again to sign him on a cut-price deal in January, particularly given their lack of sufficient options in central defence.

Tottenham Hotspur could find it easier to strike a deal for Lloyd Kelly in the January transfer window if Bournemouth cannot convince the defender to sign a new contract.

While Spurs managed to bring in one high-quality centre-back during the summer in Micky van de Ven, it was widely expected the club would sign another before the transfer window closed.

That didn’t happen, and with the departure of Davinson Sanchez last week, the Lilywhites may find themselves short of cover in the central defensive area.

According to The Athletic, Spurs had offered £20m for Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly on deadline day. That offer was knocked back, and the 24-year-old remains a key part of the Cherries squad for the time being.

It has been claimed by journalist Matt Barlow (Daily Mail) that Spurs could return with another approach for Kelly in the next transfer window.

Bournemouth may have to sell Lloyd Kelly

Now, it has been suggested by Football Insider that Bournemouth could find themselves forced to let Kelly go in January, as his contract is due to run out at the end of the season.

It is thought the Premier League side may look to “cash in” on their player in the winter transfer window, and this has put Spurs on “high alert.”

A “cut-price offer” could sway the Cherries in the New Year, as they look to “recoup a fee” for Kelly. It is said both Tottenham and Liverpool will be keen to explore this avenue.

Spurs Web Opinion

Lloyd Kelly is a decent player and could be a good fit for us, especially if we can get a cheaper deal for him. However, I do think there are better options out there.

I would probably lean towards Tosin Adarabioyo over Kelly, but either way, I think we would get a good squad player who can provide solid cover at the back.

90 min have claimed that Liverpool and Newcastle United have now joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Bournemouth’s Llyod Kelly ahead of the January transfer window.

Even though Kelly’s contract at Bournemouth runs out next June, the Cherries rejected a £20m offer from Spurs for the centre-back on transfer deadline day, according to The Athletic.

The report claimed at the time they turned down the offer because they did not have sufficient time to sign a replacement, and it has since been suggested by some sources (Matt Barlow-Mail Q&A) that Spurs could reignite their interest in the 24-year-old in January.

Competition from Liverpool and Newcastle

90 min have now also backed Tottenham to make another move for Kelly when the transfer window reopens in January.

The outlet claims that Bournemouth might be forced to cash in on the central defender as the player has shown no inclination to sign a new contract at the Vitality Stadium.

However, the publication reveals that Spurs are not the only ones eyeing the Cherry star, with the Reds and the Magpies also said to be monitoring his situation.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no reason why Tottenham cannot beat Newcastle and Liverpool to Kelly’s signature in January as the transfer fee is not likely to be too high, given his contract situation.

It might come down to who can persuade the 24-year-old and we have already seen that Postecoglou is quite good at selling the Spurs project to players.

Journalist Matt Barlow has said that Tottenham Hotspur could try again to sign Lloyd Kelly in January after failing with a late effort to complete a deal for the Bournemouth star before last Friday’s transfer deadline.

It was reported by The Athletic on the morning of deadline day that Spurs had made an offer of £20m for Kelly, which was turned down by Bournemouth.

The outlet explained that the Cherries were reluctant to let the defender leave so late in the transfer window since they did not have time to bring in a suitable replacement.

Tottenham failed to bring any other centre-back through the door before the window shut and to some people’s surprise, they have since also decided to let Davinson Sanchez go to Galatasaray.

That means that Eric Dier is the only senior centre-back that Ange Postecoglou could now turn to if there is an injury to either Crisitan Romero and Micky van de Ven.

Tottenham could return for Lloyd Kelly in January

Barlow believes that central defence is one of the areas that Spurs will look to address in January, suggesting that another offer for Kelly could be on the cards.

The journalist said on Daily Mail’s Q&A: “There’s still quite a bit to do so I expect they will be looking for business in January. As mentioned, they are thin in central defence.

“They might try to revive the move for Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth. And Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, who was keen to leave in the summer, will have suitors again when the market reopens, possibly Atletico, which means Spurs will want to replace him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

With Eric Dier seemingly not favoured by Postecoglou, there is no doubt that Tottenham would priority signing a centre-back in January. The Lilywhites will likely make a move for a homegrown option such as Kelly or Tosin Adarabioyo.

The Times have revealed on their live transfer blog that Tottenham Hotspur are expected to return with an improved offer for Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly.

Fabrizio Romano was the first to report on Tottenham’s interest in Kelly, with the journalist claiming on Thursday afternoon that the Lilywhites are eyeing a late move for the centre-back.

He suggested that Spurs could include Eric Dier as a part of the operation to bring the 24-year-old to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, this morning The Athletic revealed that Tottenham had made a straight £20m cash offer for Kelly, which was turned down by Bournemouth.

The publication explained that the lack of time to be able to find a suitable replacement was one of the factors in the Cherries turning down the bid.

Spurs expected to try again for Lloyd Kelly

If The Times’ latest update is to be believed, Tottenham have not admitted defeat in their pursuit of Kelly.

The outlet alleges that the North Londoners are soon expected to return with an improved offer for the versatile defender, who can also feature at left-back.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that we are moving for Kelly, who is a left-sided centre-back, suggests that Tottenham expect Dier to leave before the transfer deadline.

With Sanchez and Tanganga also evidently on their way out, I would not be surprised if Spurs made a move for another right-sided centre-back before the window shuts.

Tottenham see £20m turned down for Lloyd Kelly

The Athletic have now asserted that Spurs made a straight cash offer of £20m for Kelly, which has been turned down by the Cherries.

The outlet adds the lack of sufficient time to find an adequate replacement is a factor in the south coast club’s decision to send back the offer.

The publication explains that Tottenham’s interest in Kelly has been ‘long-standing’ and that the Englishman’s ability to play as a centre-back and as a left-back appeals to Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs Web Opinion

Theoretically, we have two players in Van de Ven and Davies who can both operate as a left-back and as a left centre-back.  So, one would have thought that a right centre-back (as a cover for Romero) would have been a much bigger priority for Postecoglou.

Perhaps we will see Spurs making a late move for another centre-back of Perr Shurrs’ or Tosin Adarabioyo’s profile.

Eric Dier could be included in Lloyd Kelly offer

Romano claims Eric Dier could even be included in a possible deal, although it is not known whether Spurs would loan him out to Bournemouth or offer him in a swap, with his contract running out next summer.

Kelly is 24 years old, left-footed, and English so would count as a homegrown player for Tottenham, and he has played three times for Bournemouth already this season (TransferMarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion:

This seems like the kind of signing Tottenham would go for as cover for Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero. A younger centre-back with Premier League experience and decent pace, but will likely be happy to sit on the bench and wait for his big chance.

After bagging his first goal for Tottenham Hotspur, James Maddison has explained why he alone cannot replace Harry Kane and insisted it will require a team effort to fill the void.

In what has ultimately been a summer of great transition at Tottenham this year, new boss Ange Postecoglou has had to find a way to deal with the loss of star striker Harry Kane who joined Bayern Munich earlier this month.

So far, the Lilywhites appear to be coping pretty well without their talismanic forward. A draw against Brentford in the first game of the season was followed up by a brilliant win over Manchester United last weekend.

Postecoglou’s men made it back-to-back wins with a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium with the England international catching the eye and scored a deserved first goal for the North Londoners when he ran in behind the Cherries defence to latch onto Pape Matar Sarr’s pass to guide the ball into the back of the net.

James Maddison cannot replace Harry Kane

However, the suggestion that Maddison can replace Harry Kane at the club has been dismissed by the man himself.

Maddison told the BBC: “It’s tough if you’re asking me to try and get 30 goals! It’s a collective. You can’t even look to replace what Harry Kane gives you. You’ve got to all chip in and look to try and score the same amount of goals from different areas.

“Harry is probably the best number nine in the world, you will never find a direct replacement in terms of goals and what he can give you. We should all be chipping in. We’ve got the bit between our teeth. We have some momentum, so long may that continue, and hopefully we can still implement the final steps the gaffer wants to see, which is attacking football.”

Spurs Web Opinion

James Maddison is already offering us something that Kane never really did, and something we have lacked for years, and that is a bit of dynamism and magic in the middle of the park. He won’t score 30 goals a season, but he has invigorated this team beyond belief.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has alleviated any fears about Destiny Udogie’s fitness following the 2-0 win at Bournemouth.

The Italian went to ground late in the second half without any contact from an opposition player when he played a pass back to goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and looked to be in some discomfort on the turf.

After receiving medical attention, the 20-year-old got back to his feet and made his way to the away bench after Postecoglou decided against any risk and replaced him with Ben Davies.

No injury for Destiny Udogie at Bournemouth

Udogie once again caught the eye with his performance and played a key role in Tottenham’s second goal of the game when he managed to latch onto Heung-min Son’s reverse pass to cut the ball back to Dejan Kulusevski to find the bottom corner of the net.

Postecoglou told Football.London: “I think he just kicked the ground from what I understand. He didn’t want to come off but at that stage the way the rules are at the moment they go off for 30 seconds and I thought it was better putting Benny [Davies] on and keeping the tempo up in the game for us. Just speaking to him now he’s fine.”

James Maddison had put Tottenham ahead in the first half with a neat finish with the victory coming as Postecoglou’s first away win on the road in the English top light.

SpursWeb Opinion

When Udogie went down in a heap, many fans would have been left fearing that the Italian Under-21 international had suffered a serious injury.  He has started the season in impressive fashion, with his playing style suiting the inverted full-back role that Postecoglou likes to adopt.

At just 20, he has a remarkable future ahead of him and credit must be paid to Fabio Paraciti for unearthing a top talent.

Tottenham Hotspur registered their first Premier League victory away from home under Ange Postecoglou with a 2-0 win at Bournemouth earlier today.

Let’s take a look at the five things we learned from the match:

Maddison the playmaker

Fans have been crying out for someone to pull the strings since Christian Eriksen’s departure and they have certainly found the answer in James Maddison.   He was everywhere, especially during the first half and got his reward when he latched into Sarr’s pass to score his first goal for the club.  One goal and two assists from three matches is massively encouraging.

Sarr/Bissouma

The midfield partnership between Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma is a joy to watch and has been one of the highlights of the first three fixtures.  The move that led to the first goal with Bissouma creating space for Sarr to thread his pass to Maddison was a superb piece of play and we haven’t even got Rodrigo Bentancur back fit, yet!

Richarlison

(Photo by JUSTIN TALLIS/AFP via Getty Images)

A man without confidence

While some players are flourishing in the new system, Richarlison continues to struggle.  The Brazilian had a decent opportunity in the first half but took a touch too much and fluffed his lines and his performance in the second half was highlighted when he trod on the ball and his frustration was clear to see when he lashed out and picked up a booking.

Son down the centre

Sonny out wide in this system is not giving the South Korean the opportunity to be a goal threat.  Ange Postecoglou has to think about dropping Richarlison and playing his skipper down the middle instead.   Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon are both deserving of a chance from the start over Richy.

Unbeaten after three

Seven points from a maximum of nine in a side where the talk before the season kicked off was ‘how will Spurs cope without Harry Kane?’ is nothing to turn your nose up to.  This group of players and coaching staff are united and it refreshing to see the connection between the fans and those involved in playing matters being repaired after the end of the Conte era.

Tottenham Hotspur secured their first away win of the new Premier League season following a 2-0 victory at Bournemouth courtesy of goals from James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.

Here’s how we rated the Spurs players following the win on the south coast.

Guglielmo Vicario: Had a relatively comfortable first half with just a couple of saves to make.  The second half was even easier. 6.

Pedro Porro: Entrusted to play a second game in a row with Royal watching on from the bench. A really solid display from the Spaniard. 7.

Cristian Romero: The vice-captain had a solid game, relatively unnoticed which just goes to show how he went about the game.  7.

Micky van de Ven: An assured performance from the Dutchman, who is settling nicely into the backline alongside Romero.  Made a nice sliding tackle in the second half. 7.

Destiny Udogie: Did brilliantly well to stop the ball from going out of play and cut it back into the path of Kulusevski.  He is going to be some player for Spurs.  Worryingly went down in some pain uncontested after playing the ball back to Vicario. 8.

Dejan Kulusevski

Pape Matar Sarr: A really good first half from the Senegalese which saw him provide a deft assist for Maddison, replaced on 58 minutes by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. 7.

Yves Bissouma: Showed he was half-human when he lost his feet for half a second in the build-up to his yellow card.  His first half was impressive and was taken off on 72 minutes. 7.

James Maddison: Pulled the strings and got his first goal for the club to open the scoring.  Maybe could have had a second after the break when he dragged his shot wide.  Replaced by Lo Celso on 72 minutes. 9.

Dejan Kulusevski: The relief on his face when he scored his goal said it all.  Deki is such a confidence player and needed that to hopefully kick on. 6.

Richarlison: Missed a brilliant chance in the first half after taking one too many touches and his lack of confidence was clear to see when he trod on the ball and his frustration led to a booking. Hooked off after 58 minutes for Ivan Perisic. 4.

Heung-min Son: Had little to feed off in the first half.  Looked more alive once again when he played centrally in place of Richarlison, played a nice reverse pass into Udogie in the build-up to the second goal. 6.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Ange is certainly using his game management when he’s bringing on the Dane to help protect a lead to sit in front of the centre backs and it is paying off nicely. 6.

Ivan Perisic:   The more advanced role on the left is certainly suiting him more than the wing-back role he was asked to play under Conte.  Booked for a push. Came within inches of scoring in injury time. 6.

Giovani Lo Celso: A first Premier League appearance of the season for Gio. Hopefully, he gets some more minutes at Fulham in midweek. 6.

Oliver Skipp: Came off the bench with just under twenty minutes to go, which he may have to get used to with the flourishing Sarr/Bissouma axis. 6.

Ben Davies: The Welshman was a late replacement for Udogie. 6.

Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players following the opening forty-five minutes of action against Bournemouth in today’s Premier League early kick-off at the Vitality Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou’s side head into the break currently 1-0 ahead courtesy of James Maddison‘s first goal for the club.

Guglielmo Vicario: Made his first save after 34 minutes from a relatively easy Billing header.  His second save five minutes before the half denied Christie from the edge of the box. 6.

Pedro Porro: Has been playing the inverted role and has slotted in nicely into the middle when Spurs are in possession. 7.

Cristian Romero: Made a crunching tackle to set up the counter attack which nearly lead to Spurs’ second with Richarlison’s chance 7.

Micky van de Ven: Has looked much more assured on the ball compared to the opening stages against United. 7.

Destiny Udogie: Antother solid half from the Italian who has looked to get forward as much as possible. 7.

Pape Matar Sarr: Played a beautifully weighted pass through to Maddison to break the deadlock.  Should have been on the scoresheet himself if he had made a better contact with a left-footed effort. 8.

Heung-min Son

Yves Bissouma: Has picked up where he left off last week. The drop of the shoulder to make room for Sarr’s assist was a joy to watch. 8.

James Maddison: Had a huge chance to open the scoring, but could only fire his shot straight at Neto.  Certainly made up for it when he ran in behind to latch onto Sarr’s pass to score his first-ever goal for Spurs.  His ability on the ball and eye to play a through pass has been exactly what’s needed. 9.

Dejan Kulusevski: Another half where he has had a decent amount of touches, but to little effect.  Really should have done better with his pass in additional time which he failed to find Maddison from in what could have been a chance on goal. 5.

Richarlison: Had a brilliant opportunity to double the lead, but took a touch too many – unfortunately it just isn’t happening for the Brazilian, who is short on confidence.  Headed into the side netting from a Maddison corner. 5.

Heung-min Son: Had half of a glimpse of goal when he volleyed over from Maddison’s corner. 6.

Ange Postecoglou has named his Tottenham Hotspur side which will take to the field in this afternoon’s early Premier League clash against Bournemouth.

Tottenham head to the south coast on the back of their impressive 2-0 victory over Manchester United in North London last weekend to register their first three points of the new campaign.

Away form was a problem for Spurs towards the end of last season and they could only muster a draw at Brentford on the opening day, meaning they have won one of their past 11 away games in all competitions, drawing three and losing seven.

The Cherries have a point from their first two games under new manager Andoni Iraola following a draw with West Ham United and a defeat at Liverpool.

Who starts for Spurs against Bournemouth

James Maddison, who was spotted in a protective boot and crutches in the aftermath of the win over United, takes his place in the starting eleven today.

Postecoglou told Football.London when asked about the playmaker at yesterday’s press conference: “Yeah Madders trained today unrestricted.

“We’ll see how he pulls up but at this stage it looks like he will be available. We’ll assess how he feels but yeah he trained.”

He added when asked about the issue Maddison was experiencing: “I think it was the incident when [Cristian] Romero got brought down. He had a shot and it was a block-tackle. His ankle was a bit sore after that, but the medical team looked after him.

“There was no real push to have him available. It was down to him. People would have seen him in a moon boot, but it was more precautionary. He has felt good and probably could have trained yesterday. He trained today unrestricted, so obviously nothing serious.”

This is who takes to the field for Tottenham at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon:

Tottenham: Vicario (GK); Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Maddison, Bissouma, Sarr; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Son

Subs: Solomon, Skipp, Sánchez, Perisic, Davies, Højbjerg, Lo Celso, Emerson Royal, Forster

Bournemouth: Neto (GK); Aarons, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kerkez; Rothwell, Billing; Semenyo, Traore, Anthony, Solanke

Subs: Cook, Radu, Moore, Senesi, Anthony, Mepham, Brooks, Hill, Traorè

Tottenham Hotspur take on Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend as they look to continue their fine start to the season under Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs have already recorded a point away from home against Brentford and a 2-0 win over Manchester United, but will fancy themselves to kick on yet again on Saturday morning.

However, Bournemouth have been playing some decent football themselves since their Premier League return, and showed a lot of pace in attack last season which could be tricky for Tottenham’s rather open defence.

Tottenham Hotspur face a tough trip to Bournemouth this weekend in the Premier League as Ange Postecoglou looks to continue his unbeaten start to life at Spurs.

We believe that Guglielmo Vicario will retain his spot between the sticks after an impressive showing against Manchester United.

There is just one change to the back four as Emerson Royal swaps in for Pedro Porro, so Micky Van de Ven, Cristian Romero, and Destiny Udogie keep their spots.

In midfield, Pape Matar Sarr certainly did enough to warrant another start, alongside Yves Bissouma in the pivot. James Maddison returns in time to partner them as the main creative force, with Giovani Lo Celso missing out on his chance to impress.

Up front, Postecoglou sticks with Richarlison, Heung-min Son, and Dejan Kulusevski as all three look to get off the mark in the Premier League this season.

Tottenham have scored four goals across the two games so far, but those have come from Emerson, Romero, Sarr and an own goal forced by Ben Davies.

Ange Postecoglou has provided a team news update ahead of tomorrow’s match against Bournemouth at this afternoon’s press conference at Hotspur Way.

Tottenham picked up their first win of the new Premier League campaign last weekend with a 2-0 victory at home to Manchester United and will be looking to build upon it with their visit to the south coast in the lunchtime kick-off.

There were concerns for James Maddison shortly after the final whistle after the summer signing was spotted wearing a protective boot and walking with the help of crutches as he left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening.

Ange Postecoglou delivers James Maddison injury update

The England international was sent for a scan on the injury on Tuesday despite telling reporters at the weekend that the crutches and boot were just a precautionary measure (The Athletic).

Postecoglou has now revealed that Maddison will be available for the match at the Vitality Stadium

He told Football.London: “Madders trained today unrestricted. We’ll see how he holds up but at the moment he will be available.

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth tomorrow.

Tottenham head to the south coast for an early kick against the Cherries, who have one point to their name so far having drawn at home to West Ham United and suffered a 3-1 defeat at Liverpool last time out.

Ange Postecoglou’s side come into the fixture on a high having beaten Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur last weekend and are looking for their first win on the road in the new campaign having played out a 2-2 draw at Brentford in their last away game.

Merson believes that it will be a case of Tottenham still seeking their first three points away from home by predicting that the North Londoners will play out a score draw.

Yves Bissouma

Will Tottenham beat Bournemouth?

He told SportsKeeda: “I really liked the way Tottenham played against Manchester United last week. You’re going to get goals when Tottenham play this season. Man United also had chances last week against them and got plenty of shots away.

“Bournemouth did very well in their first 20 minutes against Liverpool and flew out of the traps. Tottenham play very nice football, but they do give you an opportunity.

“Bournemouth will certainly have a go, and they aren’t going to sit back and defend. This is going to be an entertaining game, and I think it’ll end in a draw.

“Prediction: Bournemouth 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur.”

SpursWeb Opinion

Tottenham need to be picking up three points from these matches, with the greatest respect to Bournemouth if they hold any ambition of a top six finish and a return to European football.

The feel-good factor among the fans was clear to see in N17 last weekend and it could come crashing back down to earth with a bump if the result does not go out way.

One thing is certainly clear, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done in the transfer window – both in terms of incoming and outgoings.
