Tottenham Hotspur central defender Japhet Tanganga could become a transfer target for two Serie A clubs this summer, according to the Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport.

The report highlights the change in rule which will now see British and Swiss players be treated as European Union (EU) citizens in Italy following a request made by Serie A, allowing Italian teams to free up space to sign non-EU players.

Tanganga could be back of interest to Serie A clubs

Italian clubs are only permitted to register two non-EU players each season, but could now look to target more players from the United Kingdom to bolster their squads, now the new rule has come into force for the season ahead.

As a result, Tanganga could now become a target for AC Milan and Atalanta, with his future at Tottenham increasingly in doubt.

Football.London claimed back in May that the academy graduate could look to leave Tottenham this summer and has been previously linked with a move to Serie A.

Last summer, Tanganga was strongly linked with a loan move to AC Milan, however, an agreement couldn’t be reached on a potential future transfer fee (Football.London).

Corriere Dello Sport (27/7/23)

Tanganga made just seven appearances in all competitions for Tottenham last season, having found first team opportunities hard to come by under Antonio Conte, Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason with the likes of Eric Dier, Cristian Romero and even Davinson Sanchez ahead of him in the central defensive pecking order (transfermarkt).

SpursWeb Opinion

Tanganga caught the eye on his Premier League debut against Liverpool while Jose Mourinho was in charge, however, unfortunately a series of injuries hampered his development and chance at a regular first-team place and struggles with consistency after long spells watching on from the sidelines.

A move to Italy or the likes of Luton Town is exactly what he needs to get his career back on track.

Tutto Atalanta have revealed that Japhet Tanganga is seen as a very good fit for the profile of centre-back that Atalanta are looking for.

Multiple publications have reported over the last couple of weeks that Tanganga is expected to be offloaded by Tottenham this summer, with the club looking to make wholesale changes in central defence (Football.London).

Journalist Ben Jacobs told Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel on Thursday that the centre-back is attracting interest from Atalanta as well as newly-promoted Premier League side Luton Town.

Atalanta are keen on Japhet Tanganga from Spurs

Tutto Atalanta have now also backed up the Serie A side’s interest in Tanganga, stating that the ‘multifaceted’ Tottenham academy graduate appeals to the club since he is capable of playing in central defence as well as right-back.

The publication adds that the Bergamo club value the 24-year-old’s ‘tactical flexibility’ and believe that he could be a ‘valuable chess piece’ in the backline.

The report explains that Tanganga’s power, technique and defensive skills make him an ‘attractive profile’ for Atalanta, who are now monitoring him ‘very carefully’

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite Tangana’s lack of game time over the last two seasons, there is no doubt that he has all the attributes that one looks for in modern-day defenders, which is why I expect plenty of clubs to vie for the 24-year-old’s signature this summer.

Big things are expected of the 20-year-old, who has even been dubbed the ‘next Haaland’ by some observers.

CMW.it now reveal that Juventus have prioritised a move for the Atalanta starlet this summer as they plan on cashing in on Dusan Vlahovic on the back of his underwhelming displays this season.

However, it is explained that the Old Lady’s pursuit of Hojlund could get complicated by Tottenham’s involvement, with the Lilywhites also alleged to be fans of the Dane.

The report adds that Spurs could decide to push ahead with a move for the former Copenhagen youngster, particularly if they lose Harry Kane, and that the Premier League club would able to blow Juve out of the water, owing to the fee they would receive for the England captain.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even if Tottenham were to cash in on Kane, which is far from a given, the club would want to replace the 29-year-old with a striker who is proven at the highest level, rather than a promising youngster like Hojlund.

In fact, Vlahovic might not be a bad option for Spurs to go for in the event that Kane leaves.

Tottenham have seemingly been handed a boost in their rumoured pursuit of Giorgio Scalvini after the Atalatna starlet admitted that he dreams of playing in the Premier League.

Scalvini has come on leaps and bounds since breaking into Atalanta’s starting eleven last season, establishing himself as a fixture in Gian Piero Gasperini’s back three and even winning three caps for Italy.

Ahead of the January transfer window, multiple Italian outlets (CMW.it and InterLive) claimed that Antonio Conte is a big fan of the 19-year-old and suggested that the youngster could be one of the North London club’s top targets.

Scalvini stayed put at Bergamo last month but the Lilywhites could potentially decide to reignite their interest in the teenager during the summer, with the Premier League club thought to be intent on singing two centre-backs during the next transfer window (Alasdair Gold – Football.London).

The Atlanta star has now admitted that he wants to experience English football.

Scalvini said in an interview with the print edition of Corriere dello Sport (24/02/23 as relayed by Sport Witness) about the Premier League: “For me, it’s the best league there is, for the intensity.

“Once in my career, I don’t even know when, I’d like to play in it.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Scalvini has the attributes to play across Conte’s back three and the 19-year-old has the potential to develop into a world-class defender over the next two to three years.

So, I would not be surprised if Fabio Paratici decides to prioritise a deal for the 19-year-old in the summer.

The 24-year-old did start the campaign solidly but he has not been a regular in Atalanta’s starting eleven since the Serie A’s restart.

TMW now reveal that three different clubs enquired about Demiral’s availability during January, including Spurs.

The report explains that Fabio Paratici was the driving force behind Tottenham’s interest in the central defender, with the Italian said to be a ‘big admirer’ of the player, who he signed for Juve.

Nottingham Forest also allegedly showed interest in Demiral last month but were not able to get a deal over the line.

TMW add that Inter Milan had earmarked the Atalanta star as the replacement for Milan Skrniar had the Slovak left in January and suggest that the Nerazzurri could return again for the defender in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Demiral has shown at Atalanta that he can be a decent option in the middle of a back three. However, if Antonio Conte is still at Spurs next season (which is a big ‘if’), I suspect he would want a defender of a much higher calibre than the 24-year-old.

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore is said to be in favour of a move to Atalanta or Napoli ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, according to 90min and has already held talks with the Serie A pair.

The Spanish international was heavily linked with a move to north London last January and instead joined Barcelona on loan for the remainder of the campaign before heading back to Molineux earlier this summer (Guardian).

Traore is set to be out of contract at Julen Lopetegui’s side come the end of the campaign and is able to discuss a Bosman transfer with the two Italian clubs this month.

The jet-heeled winger is prioritising clubs who will play him in his preferred position, compared to Tottenham who had planned to convert him into a right wing-back to fit in with Antonio Conte’s tactical set-up.

SpursWeb Opinion

While there is no question about Traore’s physical ability, he lacks composure on the ball especially in attacking areas which is something that Spurs fans have had to endure with the likes of Emerson Royal this season.

Pedro Porro is a much better alternative given his accuracy with crosses into the box to create chances for his forward line; something which Harry Kane has been starved of in recent seasons.

According to a report in Corriere della Sera, Inter Milan are determined to beat Tottenham to the signing of Atalanta centre-back Giorgio Scalvini.

Until recently, reports had indicated that Tottenham were prioritising signing a right wing-back and an attacker during the current transfer window, with the club expected to put off a move for a centre-back until the summer (Football.London).

Inter Milan

However, this appears to have changed over the last few days, with The Sun reporting over the weekend that Antonio Conte also wants reinforcements at centre-back, with Spurs backed to make an offer for Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie.

Another centre-back who has been mooted as a target for the North London club over the last few weeks is Scalvini, who has blossomed since he broke into Atalanta’s starting eleven last season.

Both CalcioMercatoWeb and InterLive claimed last month that Conte is a big fan of the 19-year-old, with the latter even suggesting that he is one of the Spurs boss’ top targets.

However, Corriere della Sera‘s latest update comes as a blow to Tottenham’s hopes of signing Scalvini, with the publication claiming that Inter will do ‘everything possible’ to sign the Italy international despite facing competition from Spurs.

The report asserts that the Nerazzuri eye the Atalanta star as an insurance option amidst the uncertainty over the future of Milan Skriniar, and add that the youngster’s €40m (£34m) release clause makes him a realistic target for Simone Inzaghi’s side.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Inter do push ahead with a big offer for Scalvini, that suggests that the club do not expect Skriniar to extend his contract. So, I do wonder if Spurs would be tempted to submit an offer for Slovak, who Inter will be tempted to sell this window to avoid losing him for free at the end of the season.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi is on the verge of completing a move to Olympique Marseille.

The Ukrainian international has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur since the summer transfer window, however, a move failed to materialise (Tutto Atalanta).

The attacking midfielder’s contract runs out at the Serie A outfit this summer and the January window represents Atalanta’s last opportunity to cash in on the player (transfermarkt).

Since joining Atalanta in 2019, he has made 143 appearances for the Bergamo-based club across all competitions, scoring 30 goals and providing 28 assists.

The Italian journalist took to Twitter to reveal that Marseille are ‘closing in’ on a deal to sign the 29-year-old and he will head to the south of France initially on loan with a mandatory purchase being triggered in June.

While Tottenham are crying out for some creativity, another attacker is a bigger priority at the moment with Lucas Moura, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski all still sidelined.  Malinovskyi had a respectable season during the previous campaign, however, he has hardly set the world alight since the summer.

TuttoMercatoWeb have now revealed that Marseille could be set to launch an offer for rumoured Tottenham target Ruslan Malinovskyi.

Over the past few days, reports emanating from Italy have indicated that the race for Malinovskyi’s signature appears to be between Spurs and their London rivals West Ham.

CalcioMercato revealed earlier this week that Atalanta have taken up the option to extend the 29-year-old’s contract, which was initially set to run out next summer.

The report explained that while the Ukrainian dreams of a move to Antonio Conte’s side, the Lilywhites are facing competition from West Ham, who had also expressed an interest in the attacking midfielder.

The two London clubs’ interest in Malinovskyi was also backed up by Corriere della Sera, who claimed a couple of days ago that Tottenham had launched a loan offer for the player with an option to make it permanent at the end of the season, which could become an obligation if some conditions are met.

TMW have now reported that Atalanta need to sell before they can buy in January and are thus expected to move Malinovskyi on sooner rather than later.

The publication states that Spurs can ‘satisfy the economic request’ of the Serie A club but adds that the Premier League club need to be ‘beware’ of Marseille.

The report asserts that the Ligue 1 club could be set to reestablish contacts with Atalanta over Malinovskyi after completing the sale of Gerson.

TMW add that Marseille could propose a loan with an option to buy the attacking midfielder, which would be ‘convenient’ for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Tottenham were prioritising a move for Maliovskyi, they would have likely completed the deal already as it does not appear to be a difficult transfer to pull off, given Atalanta’s desire to sell and the midfielder’s keenness to join.

It seems like the Lilywhites view the Ukrainian as a potential fallback option in case the pursuits of their top two or three attacking targets end up collapsing during this window.

The 29-year-old has found himself frustrated at Atalanta this season, limited to just five starts for the Serie A club (Transfermarkt). As a result, Malinovskyi has been told he can leave the club (Gazzetta dello Sport 16/11/22 as relayed by Sport Witness).

It had been suggested that both West Ham and French side Marseille were keen on Malinovskyi, too (Ignazio Genuardi). However, the latter were believed to be cooling their interest in the Ukraine international (TuttoMercatoWeb).

With the January transfer window now open, Corriere della Sera claims Spurs have already made an initial approach for Malinovskyi, though that deal is believed to be a loan offer with an option to buy.

That may not be the deal Atalanta are looking for though, according to Thomas. In his transfer report, Thomas claims the Italian club “want £13m (€15m)” to let the player leave.

Although it is believed the player “wants to move to the Premier League this month,” a stumbling block for Spurs’ pursuit is the fact the North London side are apparently “reluctant to pay fees for players turning 30 and above.”

While it was previously thought Marseille had backed away from Malinovskyi, Thomas suggests the French club are now the ones with the “strongest interest” in the player.

Spurs Web Opinion

This Ruslan Malinovskyi saga is getting a little frustrating now. If we want the player and he wants to come to the Premier League, we need to just make it happen. We know how much Atalanta want, so it should be a simple deal to complete.

CalcioMercato revealed a couple of days ago that Atalanta have taken up the option to extend the 29-year-old’s contract, which was initially set to run out next summer.

The report stated that the Ukrainian is keen to leave and dreams of a move to Tottenham after the transfer fell through during the summer transfer window.

The publication explained that Spurs had been joined in the race for the midfielder’s signature by London rivals West Ham United.

This information has now been backed up by Corriere della Sera, who state that the Lilywhites and the Hammers are battling it out for Malinovskyi’s signature.

The report reveals that Antonio Conte’s men have now launched a loan offer for the attacking midfielder with an option to buy, which would turn into an obligation if certain conditions are met.

Spurs Web Opinion

Atalanta will likely want a permanent sale rather than a loan with a conditional obligation to buy. They would also be wary that Malinovskyi is likely to be a bit-part player at Spurs. So, any conditional agreement based on the number of appearances is unlikely to be met.

CalcioMercato have revealed that West Ham United have now entered the race for Tottenham target Ruslan Malinovskyi.

According to Transfermarkt, Malinovskyi’s current deal at Atalanta runs out next summer but TEAMtalk relayed reports from Italy a couple of weeks ago which indicated that the Serie A club have taken up the option to extend his contract by another 12 months.

CalcioMercato have now asserted that Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have actually extended the attacking midfielder’s contract until 2025.

The report states that Malinovskyi wants to try a new challenge and is keen to leave the club this month after his efforts to find a transfer fell through last summer.

The publication reveals that joining Spurs is still a ‘dream’ for the 29-year-old but it is explained that the North London club are only willing to loan the player, something Atalanta will not agree to do.

CalcioMercato state that Marseille also continue to remain in the background but the finances of the operation would prove difficult for the Ligue 1 club. Finally, the report adds that West Ham have ‘come forward’ to conduct ‘polls’ for Malinonskyi over ‘recent weeks’.

Spurs Web Opinion

This update from CalcioMercato regarding Malinovskyi’s contract situation is quite confusing as no other source has reported that the midfielder has renewed his contract until 2025. While Tottenham might be the attacking midfielder’s first choice, I doubt if the 29-year-old is Conte’s top target for January.

The latest report from TuttoMercatoWeb indicates that Tottenham Hotspur are still very much in the hunt for Ruslan Malinovskyi and the player is ready to leave Atalanta in January.

If it feels like these rumours have been circling for a long time, it’s because they have. Spurs wanted to sign Malinovskyi in the summer but that didn’t work out at the time, and the speculation has continued ever since (Sport Mediaset).

Despite scoring ten goals and laying on seven assists last season (Transfermarkt), Malinovskyi has fallen out of favour with Atalanta this term.

He has just five starts in Serie A this season (Transfermarkt) and it is widely believed that the club will let him leave (Gazzetta dello Sport 16/11/22 as relayed by Sport Witness).

It had been suggested that both West Ham and Marseille were tracking the Ukraine international recently (Ignazio Genuardi), but just days ago, TuttoMercatoWeb claimed the French side had cooled their interest in the versatile playmaker.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (28/12/22 as relayed by Sport Witness), Atalanta are hoping to receive an offer that meets their asking price of £13.2 million for Malinovskyi, whose current contract expires at the end of this season.

Now, the latest from TMW suggests Spurs are still very much interested in securing the services of the 29-year-old and “won’t let go” of the idea that they can bring him to North London in January.

The report adds the player is “ready to leave” and claims it is already being “taken for granted” that Malinovskyi will move on.

Spurs Web Opinion

At this point, I would be very surprised if this move didn’t happen. We have held an interest in Malinovskyi for quite some time, we know what Atalanta want for him, and the player is keen to move on too. There may be better players out there, but for the money they’re wanting, I can’t see a better value-for-money deal out there.

Malinovskyi, who has been primarily been used as an impact substitute at Atalanta this season, is one of the attacking players alleged to be on Spurs’ radar

TuttoMercatoWeb claimed on Wednesday that Antonio Conte’s men now have a clear run at the 29-year-old after Marseille withdrew from the race for the player’s signature.

The print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (28/12/22 as relayed by Sport Witness) reported on the same day that Atalanta are hopeful that the North London club will reignite their interest in Malinovskyi after failing to agree on a deal for the player over the summer.

The report asserted that the Serie A club want ‘no less than €15m’ (£13.2m) for him and that Gian Piero Gasperini’s side ‘hope’ this can be achieved through ‘a new move’ by Tottenham.

Romano has now revealed that a move to Spurs is a ‘big dream’ of Malinovskyi’s and added that the final decision will come down to Atalanta.

The journalist said on the Last Word On Spurs YouTube channel: “I’m told the player [Ruslan Malinovskyi] would love to join Tottenham. The player dreams of the Premier League in general and Tottenham would be a big dream for him.

“But at the moment, it depends on Atalanta. Atalanta want at least £13-£15million for Malinovskyi. They are not accepting a loan, so let’s see if Tottenham will decide to act or not.”

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no reason for Atalanta to accept a loan, given that Malinovskyi’s contract runs out next summer. I suspect that Tottenham view the Ukrainian as a fall back option in case the moves for their top attacking targets fall through next month.

Malinovskyi has been a bit part player for Atalanta this season and his days appear to be numbered as the attacking midfielder’s current contract runs out next summer (Transfermarkt).

Fabrizio Romano told GiveMeSport earlier this week that Spurs remain interested in the Ukrainian after missing out on him in the summer but hinted that the ball is in Atalanta’s court regarding his sale.

TuttoMercatoWeb subsequently claimed on Wednesday that Antonio Conte’s men now have a clear run at the 29-year-old after Marseille withdrew from the race for the player’s signature.

Gazzetta have now asserted that Atalanta have put Malinovskyi up for sale but the Serie A club want ‘no less than €15m’ (£13.2m) for him. The report adds that Gian Piero Gasperini’s side ‘hoped’ this can be achieved through ‘a new move’ by Tottenham.

However, the publication suggests that Spurs might be looking elsewhere for a number eight, potentially knowing that they have a fallback option in Malinovskyi.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect Malinovskyi was just a fallback option for Spurs back in the summer as well after moves for other players fell through late in the window. The same is likely to be the case in January as I expect the club to prioritise a move for an attacking midfielder like Weston McKennie.

Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed Tottenham Hotspur remain in the hunt for Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinovskyi, while French side Marseille have cooled their interest in the player.

The Ukraine international was linked with a move to Spurs in the summer, and while that move failed to materialise, the rumours have not gone away (Sport Mediaset).

Malinovskyi had an impressive campaign last time out, registering ten goals and seven assists in 41 games for Atalanta (Transfermarkt). This season however, the 29-year-old has found himself frustrated.

His game time has been limited, having made just five starts in Serie A this term (Transfermarkt). With this in mind, it appears the player will be allowed to leave the club in January according to Gazzetta dello Sport (16/11/22 as relayed by Sport Witness).

A report from Ignazio Genuardi earlier this month suggested both West Ham and Marseille were keen on signing Malinovskyi, but CalcioMercatoWeb claimed Spurs were still the frontrunners to secure his services.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season (Transfermarkt), Malinovskyi is expected to leave Atalanta in either the January transfer window or in the summer.

According to the latest from TuttoMercatoWeb, Ligue 1 side Marseille are backing away from their interest, partly due to the fact Atalanta “want money for Malinovskyi,” and also because the French outfit are looking “only for younger players.”

With Marseille seemingly out of the race, it would appear Tottenham have a clear run to sign Malinovskyi should they choose to. Indeed, the report claims that when it comes to interest in the player, “there is always Tottenham.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I like Ruslan Malinovskyi, and we can get him for relatively cheap, too. While there are arguably better options out there, the player sounds keen to come and play for us and it looks like we can get the deal done without any real competition, which could be a real positive in a hectic January transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that while Tottenham Hotspur continue to hold an interest in Ruslan Malinovskyi, the Premier League club are not in talks with Atalanta at the moment regarding the midfielder.

Despite Tottenham’s pursuit of Malinovskyi falling through back in the summer transfer window, (GiveMeSport) the speculation linking the Ukrainian with a move to the North London club has continued to persist since.

Fabrizio Romano

The attacking midfielder’s current deal at the Gewiss Stadium runs out next summer (Transfermarkt) and January would thus be Atalanta’s final opportunity to get a fee for the player if he does not sign a new contract.

CalcioMercato reported earlier this month that Malinovskyi is moving ‘increasingly close’ to Tottenham, with the report adding that a fee of around €15m (£12.9m) would be enough to convince Gian Piero Gasperini’s men to part ways with the 29-year-old.

Romano has now suggested that the ball is still very much in Atalanta’s court regarding the former Genk man’s future.

When asked about Tottenham’s pursuit of Malinovskyi, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “Now it’s on Atalanta to decide if they want to let him go or not.

“Tottenham remain interested in Malinovskyi, but they are not negotiating with Atalanta. That’s because the conditions of the deal right now are not what Tottenham wanted.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Atalanta are not in a position of strength since Malinovskyi does not appear likely to sign a new deal at the club. So, the 29-year-old will likely leave Bergamo next month but I suspect Spurs view the Ukrainian as a potential fallback option if a deal for Weston McKennie or Mohammed Kudus is not successful.

Tottenham have been backed to reignite their interest in the Ukrainian in January after missing out on him in the summer (Sport Mediaset), with the speculation linking the 29-year-old with a move to North London intensifying as we get closer to the January window.

CalcioMercato even reported earlier this month the former Genk star is moving ‘increasingly close’ to Spurs, with the report adding that a fee of around €15m (£12.9m) would be enough to convince Atalanta to sell the player.

Romano has now revealed that Antonio Conte’s men continue to ‘appreciate’ Malinovskyi, explaining that the Lilywhites only failed to get a deal for the midfielder over the line in the summer as Atalanta were not willing to loan him out.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Malinovskyi remains a player they (Tottenham) appreciate. They wanted him in the summer and he was a priority, but the problem here is Atalanta.

“Atalanta didn’t accept a loan deal with a buy option. Atalanta always wanted more than this – a permanent deal or nothing for Ruslan Malinovskyi.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Perhaps Spurs felt it would be a waste to sign Malniovskyi in the summer as he would be available for a lower fee in January or potentially for free at the end of this season. However, there could be other options like McKennie also on the market next month, which is why the Ukrainian might not be Conte’s first option anyone.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan could push ahead with a major offer to sign rumoured Tottenham target Giorgio Scalvini.

Scalvini has emerged as one of the best young talents in Italian football over the last year and multiple publications over recent months have indicated that he is on Fabio Partici’s and Antonio Conte’s radar.

CalcioMercatoWeb.it claimed last month that Fabio Paratici could look to complete a double deal for the 19-year-old and his Atalanta teammate Ruslan Malinovsky.

InterLive then reported on Tuesday that Antonio Conte is keen on adding reinforcements to his backline and identified Scalvini as one of his top targets.

The publication explained that the teenager had been on the Nerazzurri’s radar ‘for months’ but added that Spurs could push ahead with a move for the player in January.

However, if Gazzetta‘s latest update is to be believed, Inter will not give up on Scalvini without a fight.

The report states that the Serie A club are prioritising a move for the Atalanta star as the contracts of both Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij run out at the end of the season.

The publication states that Scalvini has a release clause of €40m (£34m) in his contract, which Simone Inzaghi’s men might be willing to meet.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham would likely have no problem financially outmuscling Inter in the race for Scalvini’s signature. However, the youngster might be tempted to continue his development in the Serie A rather than take the risk of moving to the Premier League at this stage of his career.

CalcioMercatoWeb.it were the first to report on Tottenham’s interest in the 19-year-old, with the publication stating last month that Fabio Paratici could complete a double deal for the defender and his Atalanta teammate Ruslan Malinovskyi.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported a couple of days ago that Atalanta are keen to hold on to Scalvini and it would take an offer of around £34m to prize him away from Bergamo.

InterLive have now backed the Lilywhites to push ahead with a move for the young centre-back in January. The report states that Antonio Conte is keen on making reinforcements to his backline in the winter window, with Scalvini being one of the players the Spurs boss has identified.

It is revealed that the Atalanta star has been on Inter’s wishlist ‘for months’ but Spurs could now make an offer of €40m (£35m) for the player.

Spurs Web Opinion

Scalvini would be a smart replacement for Japhet Tanganga as the 19-year-old can play in the middle of a back three as well as at right centre-back – two positions where Spurs lack quality cover. The Atalanta star would be a typical Paratici signing, given his high ceiling.
