Alasdair Gold has shared an insight into the way Tottenham Hotspur have been conducting their transfer activity this summer, and suggests Ange Postecoglou, Daniel Levy, and Leonardo Gabbanini have formed a great partnership so far.
A lot has changed at Tottenham in the last few months. Ange Postecoglou took over as Spurs manager at the start of the summer, and has overseen a fairly quick transformation across many aspects of the club.
Players have come and gone, a new style of exciting football has been introduced, and most importantly, there appears to be a unity and optimism around the club that has been missing over the last few years.
The Lilywhites have made several new signings already this summer, with more expected to come before the transfer window closes.
At this stage, the new arrivals appear to have been just what Spurs needed, too, with the likes of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison making positive starts to their life in North London.
Spurs are using data analysis to choose transfers
Apparently, Tottenham have been leaning on data analysis to scope out potential transfer targets this summer, and the dynamic between Postecoglou, the club’s chairman, Daniel Levy, and chief scout, Leonardo Gabbanini is proving to be beneficial to how the club are operating in the transfer market.
That’s according to Alasdair Gold, who had the following to say on his YouTube channel: “In terms of incoming ones, we know some of the standout names.
£I think there will be some we’re not aware of. Obviously, Gift Orban is high on the list, a lot of data-based stuff coming through Spurs at the moment.
“A lot of that led by Leonardo Gabbanini, Postecoglou and Levy. From what I understand, that’s quite a good little triangle that’s forming between Postecoglou, Gabbanini and Levy in terms of really pushing this more data analyst side of the transfers.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Whatever the club has been doing this summer, it clearly seems to be working so far. The new signings have made a good impression and appear to have settled in really well with the rest of the squad.
We just need two or three more additions to really get the squad to the level and style Postecoglou wants, and hopefully we can see those players come in during this window.
