Football.London have revealed in their loan-watch segment that Pape Matar Sarr and Kion Etete have had contrasting fortunes at Metz and Northampton Town respectively over recent weeks.
Sarr, who Spurs signed from Metz in the summer before loaning him back to the Ligue 1 club, started the season off brightly.
However, the versatile midfielder has now lost his place in Frederic Antonetti’s starting eleven over recent weeks.
Football.London reveal the 19-year-old midfielder has found himself coming off the bench in the past three matches.
On Sunday, the midfielder got 28 minutes as a substitute in the 0-0 draw at fourth-placed Marseille, with GFFN giving him a rating of 5/10 for his performance.
The situation is exactly the reverse for Etete, who had a slow start to his spell at Northampton Town. However, since opening his account for the League Two club last month, the 19-year-old has been on fire in front of goal.
The striker got a goal and an assist in Saturday’s FA Cup first round 2-2 draw at home to Carlisle, taking his tally to four goals in all competitions this campaign.
The Northampton Chronicle gave him the Man of the Match award for his performance on Saturday.
The publication wrote about the striker’s display: “Absolutely unplayable in the first half. Took his goal so well, leaving a defender on the floor before slipping underneath Mitov.
“So much power and strength to set up the second. Seems to be improving with every game.”

It is a little worrying that Sarr has lost his place in the starting eleven, particularly considering how poor Metz have been this season.
However, in the youngster’s defence, he has been played all across the midfield this season and has not been given a chance to settle into any slot.
