Tottenham Hotspur have now officially announced their fourth signing of the summer transfer window in Metz midfielder, Pape Matar Sarr.
The Senegalese starlet will remain with Metz on loan for the 2021/22 season before linking up with the Tottenham squad in N17.
Sarr follows the likes of Pierluigi Gollini, Cristian Romero, and Bryan Gil through the Hotspur Way doors this summer as Fabio Paratici and Nuno Espirito Santo seek to rebuild.
Although he is just 18-years-old, Sarr played 22 games in the French top-flight last season, even scoring three goals in that time (TransferMarkt). He was also called up to the Senegal senior squad and made his debut in 2021.
The highly-rated youngster certainly seems to be one for the future, with Tottenham reportedly paying around $30m for his services, including bonuses.
Spurs Web Opinion:
This is definitely a signing for the future. Spurs seem to be trying to build a really young and competitive squad to compete in the future, while retaining their stars for today. I’m excited to see Sarr in action once he finally links up with the squad.
