With one eye on the January transfer window and beyond, it seems another attacking talent has been linked with a move to North London. 19-year-old Brazil forward Savinho is on Spurs’ radar, according to TEAMtalk.

The youngster is currently on loan at La Liga side Girona but is owned by French club Troyes. He joined the Ligue 1 outfit last summer but is yet to turn out for them so far, having spent time on loan at PSV Eindhoven in the 2022/23 campaign.

This season, Savinho has two goals and four assists for Girona (Transfermarkt). And, it seems his form has caught the eye of both Tottenham and Real Madrid.

The report claims signing a new forward will be among Postecoglou’s “main priorities” in January, and Savinho is thought to be “very much in Tottenham’s thinking.”

The player has already admitted he would like to play in the Premier League, but rejected Arsenal last summer before moving to France. 

Spurs may have the upper hand in the race now, however, as Real Madrid are not thought to have the financial means to make it possible.

His career path could have been very different, however, had Bale accepted an offer from Manchester United instead of Spurs.

A report from Turkish Football back in May of this year had pinned Newcastle United and Arsenal as key figures in the race for Guler’s signature.

According to Spanish outlet AS, the Gunners were prepared to meet the release clause for the 18-year-old. Guler registered six goals and seven assists for Fenerbahce last season (Transfermarkt) and had caught the eye of top clubs across Europe since.

Journalist Chris Wheatley claimed last month that Spurs could reignite their interest in the youngster during the current transfer window, having previously been linked to Guler back in January.

Guler never wanted to sign for Tottenham or Arsenal

However, Guler was only ever going to sign for Real Madrid as he was intent on moving to La Liga. That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who made the claim on his Here We Go podcast.

“If it is [Carlo] Ancelotti’s last season, he will want another number nine. I think that’s why he will be pushing particularly for Harry Kane because if he got [him] in there, that team could be near to perfection.

“What a team that would be [Fede] Valverde, [Jude] Bellingham, Vinicius Jr., Harry Kane. That would be absolutely mouth-watering and I think that’s why someone like Ancelotti would push for the finished product as a number nine.”

We previously covered a report from Releveo (June 8) which claimed that Real Madrid were having some doubts about making a move for Kane.

The publication asserted that even though Carlo Ancelotti was keen on adding the Tottenham man to his squad, Madrid supremo Florentino Perez was instead considering waiting 12 months and signing Kylian Mbappe next summer.

However, this has now been contradicted by The Independent’s latest update, with the outlet claiming Los Blancos are ‘insistent’ on snapping up Kane this summer.

Kane could have a two-year holiday at Real Madrid

The report states that the La Liga giants feel they have a genuine chance of signing the Spurs star, unlike virtually every other club that has gone in for the player previously.

It is explained that Madrid also believes that Levy is ‘more amenable’ to selling to them so the Spurs chairman can ensure the striker does not move to a Premier League club next summer when his contract runs out.

The Independent suggest that there is also a possibility that Kane could go to the Spanish capital and then return to Tottenham in two years to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League record.

Finally, he explained that he does not get the sense that Kane is ‘agitating’ for a move as he did in the summer of 2021 when Manchester City came calling, with the situation being much ‘calmer’ at the moment.
