Fichajes have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in Crystal Palace duo, Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze ahead of the January transfer window.
Tottenham’s issues at centre-back are well documented, with Eric Dier being the only senior central defender that Ange Postecoglou could turn to if there is an injury to either Cristian Romero or Micky van de Ven.
Unsurprisingly, reports over the last few weeks have indicated that signing a centre-back is one of the priorities for Spurs and their new technical director, Johan Lange, in January (CaughtOffisde).
Spurs move for Eze and Guehi would be expensive
If Fichajes’ latest update is to be believed, one of the names on Tottenham’s radar is Guehi, who has had an impressive start to the season and has been a regular in Gareth Southgate’s England squads.
The report states that the 23-year-old’s ability on the ball and his proficiency in duals make him an attractive target for Spurs and other Premier League clubs. The outlet alleges that his teammate, Eze, is also a player that Ange Posteocglou’s men have their eye on.
However, the publication adds that Tottenham are not the only ones interested in the Palace duo, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United also monitoring them.
Fichajes assert that the Eagles would consider any ‘attractive offers’ that come their way for Guehi and Eze in January.
Spurs Web Opinion
I suspect Tottenham’s interest in Eze would have ended when we got a deal for Brennan Johnson over the line as it seemed like the club wanted to sign one of the two in the summer.
There is no doubt that Guehi will make a big move sooner rather than later and I expect a bidding war to ensue for the 23-year-old next summer if not in January.
