InterLive.it have explained that Tottenham Hotspur could test Inter Milan’s resolve to hold on to Hakan Calhanoglu by launching an offer for the midfielder.
The report states that even though Calhanoglu has excelled since his switch from cross-City rivals AC Milan 18 months ago, no player at Inter is considered ‘non-transferable’ this summer due to the club’s economic predicament.
It is explained that the central midfielder’s impressive displays in a variety of midfield roles last season caught the attention of several clubs around Europe, including a few in the Premier League.
Tottenham could look to raid Inter for Calhanoglu
The publication states that Tottenham are the ones to ‘keep an eye out’ for, with the North London club said to be keen on strengthening their midfield department this summer.
It is alleged that Ange Postecolgou’s men could tempt the Nerazzurri by submitting an offer of €35m (£30m) for Calhanoglu.
InterLive add that Spurs are not alone in their admiration for the Turkey international, with the player also alleged to be on the radars of Manchester United and Chelsea.
However, the report asserts that as things stand, Simone Inzaghi’s men have no plans of selling the 29-year-old and would only reconsider if ‘a shock proposal arrives’.

If Tottenham do cash in on Hojbjerg this summer, the club would need to add reinforcements to the middle of the park, particularly with Bentancur unlikely to be fit for the start of the season.
While Calhanoglu is more than capable of thriving in a Postecoglou system, the Australian might prefer a midfielder of a younger profile.
