Fabrizio Romano has given his ‘here we go’ seal of approval to Tottenham’s signing of Guglielmo Vicario, the Italian goalkeeper from Empoli.
This transfer has moved incredibly quickly after Brentford continued to play hardball on their £40m price tag for Tottenham target, David Raya.
90 Min reported that Tottenham would have to beat a number of other interested parties to Vicario, including Inter Milan, AS Roma, Juventus and Fiorentina.
The Daily Mail also reported that Spurs’ new manager Ange Postecoglou had personally given the green light for the Lilywhites to move for the Italian.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Spurs were expected to bid around £16.3m after already agreeing personal terms on a five-year deal with Vicario himself.
Matteo Moretto then added that the Empoli star could even hop on a flight to London in the ‘next few hours’ to sign on the dotted line in N17.

Spurs Web Opinion:
I did wonder whether this was a play from Spurs just to get Brentford to drop their price, but it appears we are now full steam ahead to get Vicario. I suppose there is always the chance of moving for Raya too next summer if he is available on a free transfer, but we shall see.
